That was some LOOSE Magic: the Gathering right there. Don’t play spells into Mystic Remora, and for the love of God, kill Consecrated Sphinx.

The Thirst for Discover at sorcery speed was painful. At instant speed, end of David’s turn, it would have denied a draw from the fish. It’s a common mistake people make on youtube to play instant speed at sorcery speed.

As somebody who had a ghired deck, it’s fun, but you NEED to have plenty of card draw and protection because the deck is very prone to getting blown own if you overreach.

I have one as well but I made it a bit more resilient leaning towards a similar build to Muddstah's Trastoni deck.

@@TheChronoG elemental bond and garruks uvheaval will draw you lots. Fable storyteller and the Oran frostfang of the precon will do too. The deck can draw a lot of cards if you build it right.

With Ghired you then have access to Feldon and other red token making machines. You can make tokens of creatures that you normally couldn't and win the game with combat related combos. Aurelia or Celebrant of Combat

If shane discarded on turn 3. Drew for turn 4 and only played his commander, then he should have discarded again ALSO why do people always feed the fish? 2.mana draw 7..jeez by turn 2 the winner was decided.

I think Trostani is the waaay more interesting choice for populate/tokens than Ghired. Yeah Ghired brings his own Toys. But Trostani can mostly ignore all but the hardest swingbacks 'cause of her lifegain abilities. I like her most in my version with "life check effects" like book of exalted deeds, crested sunmare, resplendent angel and TRUDGE GARDEN (the last one is absolutely NUTS) ---> more tokens ---> more targets for populate :-D Love your videos, so smooth and chill :-D

I think a neat play would have been Snapping the Sphinx token, bouncing Witness with the copy, and looping like that to keep things in check. It’s slow but copying Snap for free keeps it from being too mana intensive

Ghired works best by populating Big creatures that make more tokens, draw a lot of cards with Elemental bond and then win with some combat related combo

My best Surge to Victory so far was in my Hopper/11 deck. I picked In Garruk’s Wake and swung in to the person in the lead with three 10/1 thopters, killing them and recasting a one sided board wipe three times

I think Chris stops Shane if he saved Swat for the copied spell instead of Snap. But given how much Shane was drawing, likely had other counterspells. Great video as always :)

You should realy make a ghired deck mudsta. What i would recomand is. Look for creatures with great effects to abuse if they where tokens. Like thragtusk, dauntless escort, Ancient Stone Idol. Or just go the route i went use ghired to make copys of himself. Things to note a ghired deck usualy runs out of gass quite fast. would reccomand garuks uprising and great henge. Haste and protection on ghired is pretty key since u dont want games to go long and timeless witness + rootborn defences is a beatiful loop to do (meaning play rootborn populate whatever atack with ghired populate timeless get rootborn back)

Why didn’t kris snap the Sphinx immediately after he got it back. He could have got both of them, but he kept holding on for no reason. Seemed like he was trolling because he had no plan. I don’t follow his thought process at all.

The combo still relates to Donal, though, as it's all about flying creatures that, alone, can still synergize with him.

Panharmonicon was just additional gravy. With Donal on board every shrieking/peregrine drake rotation is untapping ten lands a go.

On the subject of Ghired VS Trostani, always keep in mind that, in order to shift to Ghired, you'll have to give up on the lifegain theme you have with Trostani. This means giving up on stuff like Aetherflux Reservoir and Phyrexian Processor.

You don't have to. Something not being in the command zone doesn't mean that it becomes impossible.
