Hi, I am relatively new to the channel and already learned a lot. I just signed up for the 21 day course. I don't know if it is my phone, but I scrolled past the CTA Button because on mobile it was shown as just regular letters. No color and no shape of a button (the shape actually appeared, once I scrolled back and clicked on it). Just something I wanted to point out. I am very excited what will await me in those 21 days and look forward to learning :)

are you able to elaborate on the 3 sales emails in the welcoming email, are they included on the welcoming email as follow ups or something?

They can be follow ups, they can exist on their own, or they can be completely unrelated to the business you were writing for in your squeeze page/welcome email. Do what makes the most sense for you and your education.

What exactly is a sales email? Can it be a sales letter ? Or thats basically what it is ?

Are you signed up for lots of email lists and reading the promotional emails you receive? If you get an email that's trying to sell you something or get you to click onto a page that has a sales letter or product page... that's a sales email. It's different from a traditional sales letter.

So if you have your fake business -- say, a life coach/mentor -- and you make your landing page and then ONE welcome email, should you then make a couple more emails for a welcome SEQUENCE? Or just ONE welcome email, and then three sales emails for that business?

That is entirely dependent on the kinds of services you wish to provide! If you want to sell email sequences? It'd make sense to have a full email sequence in your portfolio. If you want to sell sales emails or lifts? It would make sense to have multiple of those in your portfolio.

@@sultrycitrus There is no right answer. Standard boilerplate welcome sequences run 1 to 5 emails. Sales campaigns are typically 1 off blasts to a list.

I tried making my own marketing funnel for a made up client inside the boxing niche but I just kept going to dead ends, I want to make my portfolio (doing it currently) but I want to make sure that whoever reads it can understand it, or should I model my own funnel from using my competitor research? I know it doesn’t matter what I create first but I want to make sure both me and the reader can understand my portfolio and what I can provide to potential clients. Any help would be appreciated as I want to make the perfect portfolio that is concise and easy to understand, I can create the copy but not sure how to structure it, I might make it a personal project as I have no experience but understand copywriting.

Hi, when you talk about sales emails, are you alluding to long sales emails that seek to make the sale right on that email? Or are you talking about lift emails(which are generally much shorter) that seek to only get a click that will lead to an actual sales/landing page? Like am I trying trying to make the sale on the email itself or am I trying to get the click only? You talk about emails at about 2:40,btw.

When I say sales emails, I mean emails that actually do the selling. Not lifts. Sales emails in their myriad forms, in my opinion, will display your persuasive skills more clearly to clients than a lift.

In the 10+ years I've been recieving emails from businesses, lists, and people I've signed up for, I cannot think of ONE time it went to my spam folder. I really question the need to tell people how to 'white list' your email or "reply yes to let me know you got this". As a subscriber, I find it the most annoying piece of wasted content I get. To me, it SCREAMS..."incoming gimmicky stuff".

I actually agree however most don't think that way. Look at Google Sponsored ads on the search engine results page. I never ever click on them but Google makes so much off it.
