I can't say enough about these repair crews. Simply amazing. Fantastic work.

Stebros KZbin channel has documented a great deal of the work on the bridge shown. The pipeline crews made amazing progress.

I second the too. I've been watching them the most with the daily updates from day one about the construction on theses bridges

thank you NDP for the fast action, and thank you to all the repair crews!

I like our premier but this kind of progress is almost all because of the Contractor's, Engineer's and Operators. The most important job for the government is first, cutting the cheques and then getting out of the way.

Pretty amazing how fast it's progressing. There's a little 4 lane bridge on the TC in Alberta, took them 2 full summers just to resurface it.

The only way it would take “Years” to get the Coquihalla hwy back to what it was before the floods is only if they contract BC Hydro to do the work. If it’s the contractors working on it now it will be back to pre flood conditions and better before Spring😊. Good work guys and gals 👍🏼👍🏽

It's amazing, the progress of the repairs to this highway. The amount of equipment being used and the way they are building the highway back......it's impressive Most of you don't know the details of the crush, fractured rock, rip rap, lock blocks, compaction, engineering and other details that go into doing this right. The huge convoys of dump trucks, dozens of excavators, dozers, compactors and other heavy equipment and organizing all of it. Many of the top operators in the province wanted to be on this job, I wish I was there.

It must take a heck of a lot of organization to work effectively when repairing this stuff.

Plus the fact that they are doing it in the dead of winter

Yeah sure , the Golden Twining has been ongoing for a year +, it will take them 6+ months for a scab repair

Lmao 20 months to build it originally, and they say years to repair it back to what it was pre flooding , what a joke

Canadian work ethic.......just get it done, well done boys and girls

If they can, kudos to the crew.. over the years so many have come to depend on it as the main gateway that it is a vital artery.

They say for commercial truck traffic only. I give that less than 3 days till regular cars are using that road. That have not been limited enforcement on hwy3. And on the Princeton end most of the time non. With only lights set up and no one there..

Doesn't look like the Canadian government sent any troops like national guard to help at all
@patrickmahaffey61663 жыл бұрын
What? The national guard is American!!

Probably a little difficult for the Canadian government to order US troops around..

The best the CF offers is reservists piling up sandbags. They aren't engineers.

I did catch their Chinook flying several trips back and forth between Abbotsford and Hope, crossing over Chilliwack and Agassiz. They weren't sitting on their asses.

It goes a hell of alot quicker when you build (in this case repair) a road deemed as 'essential' during or post 'emergency' without all the same typical environmental and political hoops to otherwise check off and jump through. Keep in mind that this paticular travel corridor is a major ground utility and service supply maintenance right of way. Time is money! As far as history shows it was the high repair expenses from similar weather and topographic conditions during the late 1950's though this same valley that eventually led to the demise of the (CPR) Kettle Valley Railway. Interestily enough, original engineering plans from the competitive (GNR) Vancouver, Victoria & Eastern actually proposed lengthy tunneling over an exposed travel route.

Wanna take a bet it will take them forever to repair. They will take their time. It was not mother nature that destroyed it.

Probably paid more to get the job done faster. I'm sure somebody said "We can have it done by.. but it is going to cost you this much." The how much, is the part that is never mentioned.
