Can I make my own food bait using Molasses? I will appreciate if I can have a formula to make a food bait. The premix food bait with Insecticide is not available in my local area. Thanks

Molasses is rich in proteins, that is a natural attractant to female flies to grow eggs in their bellies. A fly will go towars molasses solution and suck its juice before it can go to the fruit. what you can do is prepare a solution of molasses with some water and mix it few drop of odourless insecticide. dip some cotton or soaking material like sponge as shown in the video and hang it under plastic to avoid direct sunlight near the tree.

by Fruit fly it means Bactrocera fly that lays eggs inside fruits and maggots (worms) starts eating it from inside the skin of fruit, Those flies are different than what we find at our home.
