I feel like the DS game follows the story more closely. As a kid playing the Wii/PS2 version I was always so pissed off that the game ended right after Coraline defeated the Beldam because they skipped the entire part about the Beldam’s hand coming back and trying to get the key. But hey, it’s a licensed game based off a movie so what are ya gonna do?

I personally prefer the Ds version of the game since it follows a bit more the story of the film version, including making some small references to the original Coraline (which is the Novel), pretty much the part of Coraline receaving a message from the Beldam's rats when going to sleep (including before the credits), not only that but one of the minigames you can play ingame also seems to be based on the book as well, the one i mean is the part where Coraline dreams of playing with the ghost children in a picnic after escaping from the Beldam. The Wii/Ps2 version are also good, but a bit annoying that it skips some parts of the film's plot, i do enjoy the cheat codes you can unlock, one of them being adding button Eyes to coraline and being able to change clothes if you buy them (this includes Whybie's jacket). I also enjoy the death animations/cutscenes you get, some of them are pretty terrifying and fucked up. But both are good honestly, even with their flaws

Sounds like the DS focuses more on the story while the other two focuses more on placing you in the film with countless horror what if. Ending the game before the hand bit, implies that the nightmare isn't normal. Or they ran out of time.

i think this game works very well on less powerful systems like ps2 and wii. the gloomy atmosphere combined very well. I think that in HD systems it would not look good.

i prefer ds becuase 1- The game looks 8-bit. 2- Dialogue scenes and games are pretty exciting. 3- It does it both by the book and movie

ngl i prefered ds version because it followed the movie more closely as it took inspiration from the book AND the movie which is pretty cool. unlike the ps2/wii because they missed like half of the stuff that happened in the movie and made me really mad that they just stopped after coraline escapes the other world. however the ds version continues beyond that and has a mini boss fight with the other mother's hand which is pretty cool

I prefer the DS version, but it only natively looks good on an actual DS. It looks horrible when using an emulator, but that can be fixed by changing the graphics settings. That makes it nice and smooth, and looks great! The PS2 looks much better, and the voice acting is great, but the lack of any camera control completely ruins it for me.

I think the DS one is the best in terms of gameplay. The Wii and ps2 versions both are filled with dumb mini games that extend the play time while the DS version is actually faithful to the movie and doesn’t have those same mini games.
