"You realize you're walking right into her trap." "I have to go back. They are my parents." "Challenge her, then. She may not play fair, but she won't refuse. She's got a THING for games." The perfect Halloween classic. Fun Fact: Neil Gaiman has said that out of all the film and television adaptations of his books, Coraline (2009) is his favorite. Lost In Adaptation Fact: The character Wybie Lovat (Robert Bailey Jr.) is not in Neil Gaiman's novel. He was created so Coraline (Dakota Fanning) would not have to talk to herself and so she would have a friend her own age. Historical Fact: Mr. Bobinsky (Ian McShane) is wearing the Hero Of The Soviet Union for service at the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster on April 26, 1986. Which reads on the front "Participant In The Clean-up Campaign" and the "4A3C" is a "Chernobilskaya Nuclear Power Plant" indication. This medal is unique as it is the only medal in the world awarded for participation in a nuclear clean up. That might explain his skin complexion and odd behavior. Mythology Fact: The Other Mother's (Teri Hatcher) name "Beldam" is an archaic word meaning: a malicious and ugly woman, especially an old one; a witch. It was once traditional on Halloween night for kids to dare each other to knock on the neighborhood Beldam's door (an elderly woman living near them). In many stories, a Beldam closely resembles a spider and lures children into her home with candy and treats, only to trap them inside a cobweb and liquefy their innards with venom. In other variations, the Beldam just traps kids in her home and eats them.

Don't just cover movies that everyone else does. Highly suggest reacting to the following overlooked animated movies: Charlotte's Web (1973) Wizards (1977) The Hobbit (1977) Heavy Metal (1981) The Last Unicorn (1982) The Flight Of Dragons (1982) The Secret Of NIMH (1982) Fire & Ice (1983) An American Tail (1986) All are available on KZbin Movies channel to rent or buy, so there's one place where you can find them. I suggest turning on subtitles, since you might have mute all the music.

I seem to be the only one suggesting these movies. Help out by suggesting them too. Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍

The story behind the book is the author gave it to the publisher's daughter to read and was told if it was too scary he wouldn't publish it, so she lied when she said she wasn't scared. She was terrified, but wanted the story to continue to find out what happened in the end. They didn't find that out until after it was published!
