Some things just don’t necessarily translate well to another medium. Coraline is a slice of life, mystery adventure, horror story. Tough to make an engaging video game out of that. The DS game just went with the spot-and-search Adventure game route, and it think it does better for it.

BranSnakes Well, it’s an adventure game where you go around gather plot items and macguffins. If that’s your thing, then go ahead. It does have a little mechanic where you use the green soul thingy to find the ghost eyes. Personally. I don’t think the Coraline games (either version) are all that bad. Just fine for what they are. The developers were tied down with a story that is not at all suited for a game, and required a ton of liberties to be taken to make a functional game. If they really wanted to make something great, it would’ve required something completely different. Even the Coraline movie had to add Wybie because the entire book was basically Coraline talking to herself. That wouldn’t work for a movie.

I just downloaded a ro.. *clears throat* bought this game for my fiancée to play cause she LOVES the movie. I see the games flaws but honestly, with how much she loves the movie, I think she will enjoy it. Especially considering how much she loves Scooby doo games.

Yeah I was disappointed. I think it would've been a lot better if it followed the movie's plot more, and your idea with the looking stone was good.

Yeah, the problem with these types of games is that they're rushed out as fast as possible to coincide with the movie, with no care for the quality of the game. Thanks for watching anyway! :)
