I didn’t have my father growing up. He left my mother with 4 kids. I am the youngest of 4. I needed a father figure my whole life. I had so many questions about life growing up. Zero guidance from a father. I’m currently 30, and have a little 3 year old girl. I don’t understand how my father left us. I can’t even leave my daughter 2 minutes alone without missing her. She’s seriously the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever seen. And all I ever want is just to be there for her and remind her to follow her dreams and that she will never be alone. She will never have to worry about anything. MR. Russel. Thank you sir, for raising such a fine respectful man. Proud of you sir. This video made me tear 😢up in the best way. I love being a dad. Hardest/best responsibility ever! Let’s go DADS!

I'm 29 with a 4 year old daughter and like you said I couldn't imagine not being in her life she is my angel she is my life. Thank you for sharing this it really makes me feel motivated and stronger and God is good my brother our Father in heaven has always been there and will always be here to guide us and teach us to be Fathers to our daughters. May the Grace and Peace of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus which surpasses all understanding be with you and your family. I love you God bless you.

Mr. Russells support of his son and his endeavors in life is legendary. It is the very definition of what a father is and should be. He is right there, through thick and thin, shouting encouragement in the face of adversity. Helping his son push the very limits of his capabilities, transcending them and breaking through into larger and bigger things. Progressing, evolving and all the while shaping and forming. Teaching through action and words and love, how to father and foster growth, maturity and love. While not as religious or vocal, my father was the same way. And, when I realized I had hit a wall in skateboarding and progressed as much as I could, both physically and mentally, he did what any father would do. He helped me define what it was that I wanted to do in life and did everything he could to make sure that was something I would become capable of accomplishing. To this day, I have very vivid memories of my dad, who was deaf, hooting and clapping when I landed a trick I had been battling with for hours. Those are memories that will last my entire life. Tomorrow is the third anniversary of his passing, and this video made me smile. It reminded me of him, and it made me realize that Dads like that, like Mr. Russell, in themselves, are one of the biggest blessings anyone could receive. Thanks, Thrasher. You folks are the best.

I have watched this at least 10x in the past 24hrs since I first saw it. I am a new dad and so inspired by Cortez. Cordana is such a great young man. His skating is ridiculous, he will be a top pro, maybe worlds best if he keeps this up. His style and trick selection is super unique, he goes hard, faces fear, has his dad's support, has faith, this kid will go places regardless, whether it is skating or whatever he does. Cortez I hope you read this man. You are a complete badass bro. This literally is helping me change my life.

Theres hundreds of millions of supportive parents, but theres very few parents that will move their entire family across country to support their kids dreams. He is a legit legend in the making. His skating reminds me of Arto and Rowley just going for gnarly and locking in on monster rails. The fact hes 6'4" is another level of insanity, then add in hes only 19 and my brain cant comprehend it.

That's seriously a great workout. Awesome father. If we had more fathers like him, this world would be totally different. Cordano is one of the best skaters. He does tricks nobody does.

Back in the mid 90's I got to work and skate with Daewon Song. Cordano reminds me of him so much. Humble, a belief in a higher power, and so focused and dedicated to progression both personally and professionally. Such an inspiring video of a father/son connection and the positive effects it has on a child's self esteem and belief in self and ultimately success.
