The Cordoba Mosque, also known as the Great Mosque of Cordoba or the Mezquita, is another prominent example of Islamic architecture in Andalusia, Spain. The original structure of the Cordoba Mosque dates back to the 8th century when it was built as a mosque during the Islamic rule of Al-Andalus. The most distinctive feature of the Cordoba Mosque is its expansive prayer hall, characterized by a mesmerizing forest of columns and arches. In the 13th century, following the Reconquista (the Christian reconquest of Spain), a cathedral was constructed in the center of the mosque. Moving on to Iqbal, he refers to Sir Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), a prominent philosopher, poet, and politician from British India (now Pakistan). Iqbal played a significant role in inspiring the idea of a separate homeland for Muslims, which eventually led to the creation of Pakistan in 1947. Iqbal's poetry and philosophy focused on reviving the spirit and intellectual prowess of Muslims in the face of colonialism and societal challenges. He emphasized the importance of self-realization, spiritual development, and the unity of the Muslim ummah (community) to overcome adversity. Iqbal's contributions to literature, philosophy, and politics have made him an iconic figure in the Muslim world. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential thinkers and intellectuals of the 20th century, with his ideas continuing to shape discussions on Islam, identity, and society.

I don't understand why there are people always saying that Spain wants to hide its Muslim past. That's not true. I am an Andalusian, I studied Al Andalus at school. We studied it thorouly, every period, every Muslim King, the battles, the art, the legacy.... Children today study it too both at primary and secondary school. Many secondary school children may not know much about other periods and still be able to tell about that period of Spanish history. I don't know in other regions of Spain, but in the south, saying that it is deleted of history books at school is simply not true. Moreover, the most tourist places in Andalusia exploit that past. In The Royal Alcázar in Seville you can see inscriptions in the walls and doors both in Arabian and Spanish, made after the Reconquest, talking about God (called Allah or Dios indistinctively) or about the King. Mudéjar art, resulting from the mixture of Christians, Muslims and Jewish, is unique in the world and definitely makes Andalusia a singularity in Europe. However, Spanish history neither started nor ended with Al-Andalus. We have a long long history of invasions and invaders. Cádiz was founded by the Phoenians, not only we were part of the Roman empire, two Roman emperors where Andalusians, Christopher Columbus set to America from Andalusia, Seville played an important role in the Spanish Empire and we were even invaded by the French in the 19th c. We are the descendants of Tartessians, Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Germans and Berbers and culturally, a mixture of European, North African and Arabian cultures. That makes there continents. Where else can you find that?

In 1433 Cordova masjid convert in to church forcly and in 1451 aaia sofia church convert in to masjid but king of Turkey bought the church

@@abidaziz6307and where did you get that information that they bought the church after the fall of Constatinople? Remember they converted most of the major churches into mosques (i.e. Hagia Sophia and Hagia Irene).
