In the current situation I think that buying E5-2678v3 + Huananzhi X99-TF + 32 GB DDR3 almost 2 years ago for about $220 was like hitting a 6 on a lottery ticket 😆 And it was thanks to your channel 👍

These mutant CPUs are fascinating. It is interesting to dig through intels products stack to find these CPUs. It's unfortunate that building them is a pain compaired to most modern platforms.

e-2286m along with the xeon u mentioned in the conclusion are both very good it seems, unlocked xeon for only a bit more than qtj2. But cannot find any info online about people using them

I’ve just brought the E-2186m and it arrived less than 2 weeks from Ali am going to fit it next week with a 1660 super and 16gb ram in an ASUS z170i pro gaming will let you know how it goes might have to do some before and after vs i5 6500

I'm surprised to see the E5-2690 V3 on that board. I thought we all had to abandon the E5-2678 V3 due to VRM overheating. Since the TDP is 15 watts lower, I didn't think anything above that was possible on these boards. How are the thermals?

My friend is giving me his Asus H110m-r motherboard + i5 6400 + 16gb 2133 memory. I know its a low end board but wanted to try one of these anyway, its a shame you couldn't undervolt, does it not let you undervolt via ThrottleStop? Either way it's a lot cheaper than even the i7 7700 and I get the extra cores + threads + official windows 11 support which could potentially help when I sell the machine in the future.

QTJ2 is undervoltable via ThrottleStop btw. Maybe it works for the i7 8700B - but the QTJ2 is much cheaper, as is the Xeon E2176M

Are you able to give more information on what is going on in your area and what impacts it is having? The media here is inconsistent and unreliable, I would trust hearing from your personal perspective. Also is there a long version video you can point me to or do that walks you thru making a basic intel mutant setup from beginning to end? It looks very intimidating and I'm very familiar with doing PC build but this just looks a bit tricky to do

Regarding the mutants, it's pretty simple: modify motherboard BIOS, flash the modded BIOS, install CPU, clear CMOS - you are good to go. QTJ2 is a laptop engineering sample repurposed to be used as a desktop CPU, you can always expect some problems with it, but if you manage to install everything correctly, it performs just like an i5-10400.

I reflashed the provider bios but still no luck only x1 speeds, I just fresh installed win 10 but didn't work either, gen 3 and x16 speeds are enable in the bios, I already cleaned the pci ports and slots, tried on 3 different x16 pci slots, a ton of diferent drivers for my 2080s,.fun fact is that I have an other very old gpu (650ti) and it runs at x16 speeds 😢 I thought my 2080s was faulty but I tested in another PC and the 2080s runs like charm, any idea what's could be happening?

Please help! I bought a QTJ0 mutant and y can play warzone, my rams are limited to 2600mhz, do you have the same issue? I have an rtx 2080 super and I can't go above 45-55 fps I've done everything and nothing is working, all my other games run perfectly! Above 150 fps on ultra and in other gamer with not amazing graphics above 250fps like PUBG I got around 300fps

How would you want me to help? Low DDR4 speed is a known issue for these mutants, about War Zone I can't say much because I don't play the game and your description doesn't provide any info for guesses. First you need to identify what CPU/GPU/RAM is doing while the gameplay and try to see where is the bottleneck. Maybe there are some hidden game settings to adjust maximum number of parallel threads, you can try to lower/higher it and see how it affects the performance.

Or did you modified yourself, it seems I'm running x1 pci speeds, I tried my 2080s on a different system and everything great, great fps,.I tried an 3080 on mines but again poor performance, I think something is wrong with my bios configuration.
