Taeyang grew up listening to the early 2000’s r&b sound. He was heavily influenced by Usher and Chris Brown. It’s heavily noticeable in his solo work. One of the GOATS in kpop from the most iconic kpop group of all time BigBang

Bigbang (where Taeyang is the member) is definitely the OG of 2nd gen idols in KPop. Their style and music are distinctively ahead of their time from other groups. BTS members mentioned several times that early in their career, Bigbang members are some of the artists they idolize and look up to, even before they debuted as BTS. You can find some old clips of BTS members having a successful fan moment with Bigbang on KZbin😁 And the most recent one is Suga invited Taeyang to his Suchwita show (my comment with the link got deleted, apparently 😅). Suga said, Bigbang practically made BTS 😊 You guys should check out more of Taeyang's music, like EYES, NOSE & LIPS, and WEDDING DRESS (the song that Jimin has been playing on piano for more than 8 years 😆), RINGA LINGA (Dance performance mv) and WAKE ME UP. Fyi, you won't know this from his appearance in the mv, but Taeyang is happily married with a 3 months old baby boy🥰 The lady on the backdrop banner in his Eyes, Nose & Lips mv is his wife. from what I've learned: Taeyang's group "Bigbang" was a thing when most of the members of BTS was in middle school and they grew up idolizing him... so it's cool Jimin got to work with him because he's said during Debut Day videos, he wanted to work with him one day

(Forgive the pun) but I'm loving 'the vibe' of this song, it has a R&B type of ibe going and i love just the beat has this calming and relaxing effect on me and I'm loving all the oranges, red and blues in the MV aswell. Also it sounds so classy yet sexy and sensual at the same time, it made me speechless and just blew my mind. Also the choreo is so explosive and what I mean by this is you can see all the different emotions they are going thru while singing. Also the beat makes me wanna get up and dance along to it. I've been waiting for this collab like for ever as I wanted Jimins dream collab to Come true and it finally has. Taeyang is the main vocalist and dancing machine of BIGBANG. BIGBANG is a 2nd gen bg debuted 2006. They are 17 yrs in The Music Industry. They are the OGs and LEGENDS. -Taeyang was at one point considered an honorary lightskin on tumblr lol -Around 2012 most people I met who knew any kpop at all knew Taeyang. Usually for his song "Wedding Dress", but my fave from that era was "Only Look At Me". - My favorite thing about him is that he revealed he was dating Min Hyo Rin in the music video for one of his biggest songs "Eyes Nose Lips", and they are married now with a son.

Taeyang is a fifth (fourth now but lets not talk about that lol) part of Bigbang, which was basically the biggest boy band of the 2nd gen of kpop. So BTS basically grew up listening to their music, and several of the members (incl jimin and jungkook) have said that they look up a lot to the members of bigbang. Thats why Jimin featuring on this track is kind of a full-circle moment, which just makes me like the song even more. Bigbang is definitely worth checking out as well... Their MAMA-stages are legendary.
