I was always taught that you have to move the person's body weight off the foot before you can apply the sapu, but I see that you're applying the sapu cold, just using the draw step. Would that work against a heavier person?

That would depend on the surface. On a hill on grass with leaves, yes. On blacktop or gritty concrete, you might have to lighten the load a bit with the high line striking or control. But I have done this successfully with heavier guys, and that depends on how soon you catch them in their step. Thank you for commenting.
