this is by far the most complicated way to do coils that I've seen, but it also seems like they will really stay coilled better than the other faster ways. Do you or have you ever used other methods?

Zira No I think this is the best way to spin coils. The other ways are not nearly as sturdy. I always use this method now and am so, so happy with it! I used to just do the supercoil technique but that feels like a cheap imitation compared to this.

What do you use as a core yarn? I tried Aunt Lydia's crochet thread and it turned into a tangled mess. I couldn't keep the thread from overtwisting. I spin on an Ashford traditional.
