I am glad you enjoyed it! The silk makes such a different to the colour and the texture too

This morning, before I was fully awake, I saw your post in my email with the picture of this yarn. So after my first cup of coffee I ordered myself some silk hankies. Thank you for posting and making this video. I am going to work on this. I hope I can get my yarn to turn out as beautiful as yours is

What a wonderful dream you had! 😉 I can’t wait to give this technique a try! I loved the coiled yarn 🧶, and the glazed yarn as well. Thank you for generously sharing here 💜

Oh my! You made my day! Your yarn turned out so pretty & you're explaining all steps so calm. I'm on my way to my wheel to make some well meant, but turned out boring yarns transform into the glaze style fibers. Thank you so much for sharing!! :-)

the fiber you used for the core spinning is interesting it looks like one colour in your hand but two colours on the bobbin.

I just want to be sure I understand what you're doing. You're making a single over a string or thin piece of yarn, then you ply or coil ( forget how you did that anti-clockwise), and then you ply it again to the right by doing the glazing over the same single piece of yarn you used for the initial spinning. Am I understanding this correctly? In other words, the finished yarn will have two strands of thin yarn in it along with the coiled yarn? I love your videos. Thank you so much for making thes.e
@tinyStudioMagazine2 жыл бұрын
yes thats pretty much it in a nutshell! This can also be done over a simple single and then plyed too, or the silk could be added onto a two ply, I chose a three ply (with he two threads and the single) because I like the extra body and texture it creates with the silk around it :)

Gorgeous! Thank you for showing us your process. 😃 Is there possibly an alternative fiber for the silk webbing?
@tinyStudioMagazine6 жыл бұрын
Reggie M you’re welcome! And actually I can’t think of one that would give the same kind of effect as the silk!

What type of spinning wheel are you spinning on?
@tinyStudioMagazine Жыл бұрын
This is my Majacraft Aura, it is my go-to wheel and I can spin from lace to these art yarns on it!

How strong is your tension on your wheel????
@tinyStudioMagazine6 жыл бұрын
Hi Katie, fairly strong, it’s different for everyone but basically it needs to be drawing in the yarn comfortably without needing to hold it back or push it to the wheel

What has been made with this beautiful art yarn????

Are you coil plying in the same direction you spun your corespun single or opposite? Never mind! I didn't watch the video for long enough. Thanks for sharing your awesome yarn tutorial!
@tinyStudioMagazine6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yes, every time it is plyed it goes the opposite way from the previous one.
@kristibbradshaw6 жыл бұрын
Which direction are you spinning, coil plying and then the final ply????
@tinyStudioMagazine6 жыл бұрын
K Bradshaw I think I said but later in the video, I spun the single clockwise, coil plyed anti clockwise, then coiled again and glazed anti clockwise. Every time the yarn goes back in the wheel it goes the opposite way :)

Stacey Bastien this is my Majacraft Aura, there’s nothing I can’t spin on this wheel :)

What do you use for your core????
@tinyStudioMagazine6 жыл бұрын
I usually use a strong thread or fine yarn such as a fluffy lace mohair, the main thing is its not slippery and its strong - fine wool yarns also tend to be more forgiving of extra twist than things like cottons
