@@commodore6430 Lol, idk for sure if the dude throwing that branch was 40 or not, but I can't be mad at it, personally. Metalheads don't take kindly to outsiders disrespecting legends, and love 'em or hate 'em, Slipknot have made it to the legend phase for being in the game for over 20 years and still killing it. If MGK "got" rock and metal so much, like he acts like he does, he'd understand how the fans get when you disrespect the legends. But he's a poser, didn't know what he was getting himself into, and sometimes, shit happens. It's not even _just_ that he was making fun of Slipknot, but he was lying about what Corey said, AND taking shots at ALL the bands playing the same festivals as him over some bs poser shit like "they're not wearing uncomfortable shoes like Doc Martens", you know, the shoe invented by a doctor literally to be more comfortable, and a lack of "rock attitude" .... Dude wants to see that "F You" rock attitude? The fans are giving it to him in spades. Can't be mad at the dude giving MGK exactly what he thought was missing from the rock/metal scene. MGK brought it on himself by running his mouth like that.
@commodore64303 жыл бұрын
@@TheKarret 15 or 40. That's bad behavior. Don't preach to me about slipknot. I'm well aware. I've been around the whole time. Chances are I'm way older than you. I don't care if he was talking shit on John Bonham. You know, arguably the greatest rock drummer of all the time. hate him all you want for it.. How you feel inside and how you express it using language is your business(unless you make a threat)but the minute someone crosses the line of being violent towards someone, that changes the entire game. You then forfeit your right to safety..You deserve to get punched in the fucking mouth. Everything you said basically was like "yeah well we didn't like what he said so it's okay to throw shit and act like a gatekeeping douche bag"... The fans are not in a band. It's not a fans job to display any sort of attitude. THEY are the ones who came to see the show. The bands didn't pay money to come see the fans so that don't even make sense bro. I'd like to see a slipknot fan throw something at me. They'd be knocked the fuck out. Slipknot fans are fucking douche bags bruh and this proves it because for whatever reason, they think they're so different and unique/better than other music fans so they have a right to act like little overgrown men children. After all, you're not their kind right? I can see why. You're nobody's kind if you act like that. I'd rather be chilling with a bunch of nickelback fans. I'm not even defending MGK, I think what he said was stupid. Bad move for business but that doesn't excuse bad behavior and it doesn't let thr band off the hook for not calling those people out.
@TheKarret3 жыл бұрын
@@commodore6430 It can be bad behavior, but some people, like MGK are too stupid to learn from words alone - didn't learn a damn thing when Eminem slaughtered him, jumped genres and immediately turned around and did the same shit. Honestly, if he said something about Slayer, lord knows that fanbase would be WAY worse to deal with than Slipknot's fanbase. And if the fans who dish physical shit out and MGK duke it out, then so be it. I'm not really one to often be a gatekeeper, I use terms like poser very sparingly, because more often than not, I have a pretty chill attitude about it. MGK was literally doing ONLY superficial shit, and then being a tryhard about how hardcore he is for having a fake "fuck you" bravado and "wearing the right, flashy and expensive clothes" in a genre that's not about that fake nonsense - most people in rock and metal make fun of that shit because it's so obvious when you fake it and that fakeness is annoying as fuck. When that's all you got with some Avril Lavigne-tier trash, behind which most of the talent is derived from a pop punk star from 20 years ago, yeah, I'll get on board with people knowing how fucking phony he is. Babymetal was a contentious band, but I was supportive of them from pretty early on and they proved themselves to not be full of shit phonies; they had special costumes and shit, what might as well be a devil may care attitude, given how some metalheads were appalled at the thought of jpop and metal mixing, but they weren't insufferable egomaniacs and they stuck it out without lashing out at legends. The fans are part of a subculture that MGK agitated by not understanding how the rock/metal community does things. The fans and bands in rock - but especially metal - is a much thinner line than I guess in other genres. It's a much closer knit community than I guess MGK realized. And you know what? If a Slipknot fan throws something at you, then go duke it out with them. I'm not the type to throw shit myself, but I'm not mad at the people who did throw shit. Some people only learn through physical violence, and if that's what it takes to teach MGK to keep that ego of his in check, then so be it, I'm not mad at it. I'd say there's a fair portion of Slipknot's fanbase that are a bit rabid; and that's something MGK shoulda known before talking shit about Slipknot. If he was such a big fan of Slipknot, his ass woulda known that. Hell, when Slipknot was my favorite band while I was in high school, I was aware of how obsessive Slipknot fans can get. I don't think I've got anything against Nickelback _fans_ ; the band sucks, but I don't take that out on the fans - hell, I don't even really take it out on MGK fans to be fans of him; but I will let them know he dun goofed. Also, you're talking about a band who, when feuding with Mushroomhead, performed in Mushroomhead's hometown, where Mushroomhead fans threw padlocks and shit at them, so after their set, them and a couple other bands went into the crowd and beat the shit outta those fans. And you're talking about fans of a type of music, where popular things to do are get in mosh pits and bruises, missing teeth and broken bones are considered badges of honor.. like... no duh they're more aggressive than your typical rock audience... that should be obvious. If MGK wasn't a fraud, again, he would have understood this about the subculture, but he didn't, and he ran his mouth instead, and so he got what was coming to him and might continue to get it until he stops touring rock festivals.

Yah me too. I ❤️ Corey but that seemed a little contradictory. I’m sure there was some missing context tho bc he’s usually a great guy.
@davidstanley95433 жыл бұрын
@@katherinejohnson3824 : Allowing fans to just throw stuff on stage for an autograph is lame. Corey had every right to react that way. It was very selfish of the fan to stop a show in front of thousands just for that one fan to have their own little moment. Not cool. Fuck it, why not every fan throw something on stage, right? Give me a break.
