Perhaps you might be interested in this. Japanese all-girl metal band LOVEBITES have a Gary Moore inspired solo in the middle of a Thrash Metal song. The guitarist who plays the song is a big Gary Moore fan. She uses a Les Paul for this song, whereas she usually plays her Dean Guitar, as she is sponsored by Dean. Anyway, here it is if you want to take a look. Break the Wall: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4HGYYuBZdGBo7c&ab_channel=LB_WOLFPACK

You're not the only one whose playing was forever altered by hearing Gary play the Blues the way he did. As a long time Bluesman I'd been looking for something to supercharge my playing and I really didn't know what I was looking for. The song I heard from Still Got The Blues was Oh Pretty Woman, which I heard on the radio one Sunday afternoon. The first solo in that song was played by Albert King, whose style I immediately recognised, then Gary comes in and suddenly my hair was standing straight up! I straight away asked my wife and daughter for that album for my birthday which was a few weeks off. My wife bought me another Gary Moore album that had been reduced in price, Dirty Fingers, and she gave me that. She'd given me the impression that it was the only present I was getting . . so I asked sheepishly: Is there another present coming? Then my young daughter gave me Still Got The Blues. That CD never left my stereo for weeks! For Christmas they did the same thing. I got some live video from Gary's Rock years, then my daughter gave me An Evening Of The Blues.

Gary had the finest vibrato of any guitar player. Many overlooked his formidable singing skills too.

Gary Moore was a fantastic Guitar Player. I got to see him live at Birmingham NEC in the UK way back in 1992. He made his Gibson LP and Soldano amps sound absolutely sublime! It was a shame he never got the recognition he deserved in the USA!

I first came across Gary Moore when I borrowed Corridors of Power from the local record library. I was blown away and hooked straight away. I saw Gary Moore 4 times live - 2 in his rock years and 2 in his blues years. Amazing live. He has been the biggest music influence on my guitar playing, not that I can play anything like him. Great video. Thank you.

His control at the insane volumes he played at is incredible. So loud that any extraneous noises will be really obvious and yet he played so clean. Amazing.

Great to see Gary getting the recognition he so deserves. His early 90s blues 💙 is off the scale, and his rock stuff from the 80s is so good, stock strat and a marshall or soldano and some delay, such a legend !!

What makes Gary Moore stand out is: he could play a face melting rock song the one moment and then go on stage with somebody like B B. King and jam some tasty Blues. There are very few players who can do that. Oh another thing about him: despite being mostly associated with the vintage Les Pauls, he was in fact playing Strats just as often, not to mention he used a wide variety of different guitar models during the 80's. From EMG equipped Charvels & Jackson, to Hamer & Ibanez and he was one of thr first famous guitarists playing PRS Guitars, back when they were still a small custom builder.

Gary Moore is why I picked up an electric guitar over 20 years ago. I am always happy to see him covered.

One of the things I'm always amazed with Gary's playing is not only his speed, but he primarily only used his index and middle fingers and occasionally his ring finger but hardly ever his pinky. And his index and middle finger were soooooo fast.

I loved Gary Moore's rock career in the 80s when I was a teen, but you tell he really got reinvigorated with the Blues path. He was extreemely fortunate to be able to record with some Blues greats before they passed.

A or of wow know Gary Moore for his 90s blues era but his heavy 80s hard rock era is so underrated. In my opinion as good as his blues rock era if not slightly better. You should check out the “end of the world song”. Gary is probably the best.

Corey👌 Without question CV Gary was the best rock blues guitarist there's ever been! I lived close to him in Rottingdean England. On the day of his burial a surreal light in the sky appeared ! I took this as he's going home to guitar heaven! This was a genius who like so many appeared ordinary in life. I'm going to study this vid.

Many years ago I had a brief correspondence with Will Lee, bass guitar player in the David Letterman band and so much more. Will and Gary shared the stage with George Harrison at George's last live performance at the Royal Albert Hall in 1992. Will commented to me that Gary was the only guitar player he'd ever met that made him wish he was a guitarist (and Will's played alongside just about every great guitarist on the planet).

My favourite Garry moore album was WE WANT MORE it was a live compilation album, loved it. Also didnt know i was doing a garry moore lick lol, im kinda a learner but really injoy teaching myself threw just practicing things and if it works out i stick with it. Some say for someone whos never had a lesson nor knows excacly what they are doing i play really well, but obviously thats debatable even to me lol..edit: the hammer ons are very AC/DC to, most likely took from inspiration from Garry.

Great lesson, Corey. Very practical information and directly linked to one of the Greats of the guitar using them in his solos. I steer away from learning licks, thinking about them blocks the information to the brain coming from the ears but I do like to see how your hands look when certain sounds are made. Similar sounds can be made other ways but some lead to the next chord more smoothly.
