I just want to thank the both of you for this video, you don't understand how much this helped me. I am a Graphic Designer that was laid off from a major financial news station in November, and I have been having the roughest time trying to get back on my feet and figure out what the next part of my life is going to look like. I had a breakdown this weekend and was really questioning everything that is going on in my life right now and Jenn really spoke on all of the emotions that I have been going through on getting let go from a well known company. It's relief to know that I am not the only one and that my emotions are valid. Thank you so much!!

I'm only half way through the episode and I can relate SO MUCH! I've been laid off twice in the past four years. Was able to break into tech without a degree but wasn't able to maintain it. I just finally got a job after getting laid off last November from a job I liked and paid well. You guys have a great chemistry and your conversation was really comforting. I look forward to more content from both of you.❤

Love the convo and THAT PART about not allowing your job to identify you is KEY! Now don’t get me wrong, we can all get caught up in growing and making more money…but ALWAYS KNOW that you can work the hardest, show up earlier than everyone else and leave later than everyone else…prioritize work over family and your health…and at the end of the day, when these companies are done with you so they can cut costs for shareholders, executives, whatever…you will be removed. So get your money, take care of your family first, take care of your health first, have hobbies that help to identify YOU for YOU outside of your job so if you ever have this happen to you…you don’t lose yourself along with the job. I’ve seen it happen to close loved ones that gave their all. I’ve personally experienced working hard towards a job and loving it…only to have the role pulled from under my feet and get reassigned for business restructuring. Take care of home…work doesn’t have to be and I don’t think it should be your priority. We live once, live your life!!

Bro I say this with love, if you're going into corporate, it's a harsh, very judgmental environment working with the predominant culture. Your grammar and punctuation need attending to, you MUST be able to speak and write the "king's english " very well when communicating. At all times. Godspeed. ❤

This video was right what I needed to see this morning. I had the rug pulled out from me almost a year ago when my employer of almost 20 years abruptly let me go. I’ve been driving ride share in Atlanta as well and coming from six figures to like $22 per hour is EXTREMELY humbling. I also am divorced and was relocated by my previous employer to Atlanta so I’m down here with nothing and trying to make something out of it. My struggle is I’ve got 15 years of non tech project management experience and I’m having a very tough time finding another job, especially without a degree. But I’m enrolled back in school and doing what I can at 42 years of age. Thanks for this video, I see that I’m not the only one trying to make a way!

This was an amazing episode! I loved the interaction, the conversation that information. I used to work for Visa 💳 great salary, benefits, bonuses and RSU's... but I started to get burnt out, managment changed, some ppl did get laid off. These companies are NOT loyal. So during the Pandemic while we were locked down, I got my real estate license and bought two investment properties that I rent out on Airbnb. I kept selling real estate on the side and stacked 💰. I ended up quitting that job last year and happily took a pay cut for a chill job that I work 100% remotely. The best thing I can tell people is while you are making 6 figures, invest in things that are going to make you money while you're sleeping. Also figure out how to make money on your own outside of your 9-5 (start a business). Best of luck to your guest. I'm going to subscribe to her channel.

YESSS FOLKS YOU MUSH HAVE HOBBIES!!!!!!!! Too many people out here that do not have things they are interested in bro. I got a few homies all they do is work and come home and maybe drink and smoke. Then be asking me where i'm at when i'm not working. Bruh I have 1 thing i'm truly passionate about that I want to do every minute when I'm not working. Not even including the other things that I'm just interested in and like to check out like Fashion and art/architecture in homes. If you happen to get laid off or lose your job then BAM! This could become a time to maybe turn that hobby into income like me. So yeah bro hobbies are an important part of life I believe. I asked a young lady I work with now what is something she is passionate about and like to do....she didn't know and couldn't tell me. She's grown grown and I think that's sadd. I told her you need to really take some time and think about that. SERIOUSLY!!!!
