Please, please, no more comments about the tyres being on the wrong way round 😂
@ellitronicsdiecastrestorat81382 жыл бұрын
Hi Bob. The tyres are correct way round and here’s why. A lot of cattle sheds of old the entrance sloped down into the shed. In order to get back out with a load of cow dung on the front loader it allowed for the tyres to get a better grip on the way out up the slope. If the tyres were per normal! The tread fills up and stays filled up with muck, and on the way out the tractor got stuck. So in my and my fathers book, they are correct and this fits with the age of the Massey Ferguson 65. Keep up the great work. I’ve one these to restore so will be using your tips etc on the journey. Cheers Ian

There was usually a weight on the back of the tractor to keep the rear end on the ground once loaded on the front. Addendum.

It's always good to see and hear from you Bob, and it's always a big day here in our home whenever you upload a video. Hubby and I enjoyed this resto, and it was great to see you bring this broken tractor back to sparkling life. Loved the color choice, too, as the silver makes the red just pop. Hope you and Mrs. Bob are doing ok!

Great little resto on the Tractor Bob, I sometimes undercoat flat black on parts I’m going to paint red, it brings the lines out beautifully, I hope you and the Wife are doing well, and I look forward to the next video. Kindest regards Mark.

Wow Bob, absolutely fantastic restoration. I'm a Massey Ferguson enthusiast so was really pleased when I saw this video. You were right to spray the loader arms silver for this restoration, as I remember if the tractor was fitted with a fork on the front, Corgi painted the arms silver. If it had a traditional bucket fitted the loader arms were cream coloured. It's a beautiful restoration, thanks for sharing it with us, looking forward to your next video. All the best. Peter.

Bob, thanks for the video. I have currently found the 66 batman and the chity chity bang bang car. I have been watching your videos inorder to insure I restore them properly. I'm about to get started on them and I'm much more confident after watching your videos. Just waiting for some missing parts. Keep the video's coming, they are a great help.

Another nice restoration Bob, I like these old model 65’s, very fiddly to restore with the old loader on, I have a couple to do myself so good to see how you went about it, just turn the back tyres around for maximum grip lol😉. Beautiful result though, looking forward to your next masterpiece, all the best to you and Mrs. Bob, Nick.

Yeah Nick I’ve done the tyres now but one of them ended up splitting because of the age 🙄 never mind I sorted it with a drop of super glue. I’ll have to leave the tractor stuff to you I think, you’re the go to guy for that area 😉👍

Hey Bob nice looking job yet again, you did put rear tyres wrong way round though tracktor tyres are the same as mud pluggers on land rovers they have a certain way that they go on Paddy

To tell you the truth John I don’t really know? I know what you mean and have tried all sorts of different stuff to do it, but none seem to work. Hopefully someone else may read this and have a solution 🤔
@aaronneumeyer55723 жыл бұрын
Such a wonderful restoration, Bob, that it pains me to point out a bit of an error you made when you reassembled the tractor. You put the rear tires on backwards. The chevron shaped tread should point towards the front of the tractor and not the rear. A quick look at the direction that the tread faces on the before and after shots at the end will reveal what I mean. Hopefully it's an easy fix for you!

Nicely done Bob. Tremendous improvement but did you notice you put the rear wheels on back-to-front?

I usually only use primer if the casting is a bit rough.
