When my oldest son became a father for the first time over 20 years ago, they decided that Christmas would not be about large gifts. They do the large gifts on the birthdays and celebrate Christmas with remembering Christ. I loved that so we don't go crazy at Christmas any more. We do try to adopt someone on an angel tree whenever we can. This year has been a bit different due to an accident 2 months ago involving my hubby. We have been blessed that he is healing well (car hit him while he was on his motorcycle). So, this Christmas we are grateful for so many blessings that have been received. Merry Christmas to all my quilty/crafty friends. May God be with you during this season and throughout the new year.

This year we opted to make her a tree ornament and include a personal note about how much she means to us. Our son asked we not give him a gift but make a donation to a charity so we selected a veterans organization as he’s very supportive of veterans needs.

I have huge empathy for you - we just moved Thursday and I hopped on a plane Friday to help my daughter drive home to FL as she and hubby are relocating as well! Swimming in a sea of boxes, but motivated because when it’s done I’ll have a huge new studio!

These patterns are so beautiful! You and David do the best job picking out quilting designs as well. I am so thankful you do paper and PDF patterns. Between my ancient, in technology terms laptop, our very unreliable rural internet, and the high cost of ink, it is worth every penny to order paper patterns. I am also a tactile person, and need to have the pattern in my hand, so just downloading and NOT printing doesn't work well for me either. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!

My husband has always been a hard one to buy gifts for. However, several years ago we began to make our gift giving be only for charities. We would put a card on the tree for each family member with a note that says "your gift was a donation of $XX to XYZ. This made everyone happy and hoperlly helped someone else be happier, too.

That green backing is really pretty but my fave is the orange backing and binding on the barn star quilt. Love your excitement when you showcase your new quilts. All are so beautiful. The quilting on them is stunning and perfect for each quilt. My mother in law makes gorgeous quilts, so hubby and I got her a table top quilting frame for Christmas. Hubby also got one for me and a new Babylock. ❤

Corey, you are such a BURST of sunshine, and your new flannel line reflects this. I hope you and your family have a beautiful Christmas in whatever you choose to do. I was never really into the barn star quilts because of their size. But recently, I think I either saw a quilt of that size that had fabric added to make it a larger, and I saw new possibilities. But the thing that really made me think was your barnstar 10. The bright colors and just the design, although I am generally drawn to a more detailed quilt, I liked it. A fun fact, I have only ever made one, what I would consider a "real quilt." I have been sewing my entire life, but just never quilted except for this one quilt, which was a queen-size applique hand quilted, quilt. When I see something I like and want to make it, I just do it. I have never been one of those people who says, "I could never do that", in fact, that thought has never entered my mind. My grandma was a crafty woman, and I am definitely her granddaughter. So now you all know my dirty little secret, lol. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it. 😊

Thank you for another round of smiles and sweet new patterns this Saturday! 🥰 That GREEN in that Around Town backing is my favorite color. It literally made me gasp when you turned the edge over. Just? LOVE! 💚 My husband is definitely the difficult one to purchase for because he "doesn't want anything," but thankfully, he always appreciates "joint gifts." This March, we're renovating our bathroom, and he loves cushy towels, so I got "him" a new, super plush towel set from Pact and a towel warming rack for when we have our new "spa" completed. Overall, we also keep it simple, though--a few things for each other, a few things for our adult son and his significant other, a little time together with cookies and coffee. Good times. ☺

We moved many times as my children were growing up. One time they overheard me talking to a friend who was a decorator. They thought it was cool that our home was decorated in “Early American Cardboard “. The boxes will get unpacked eventually, just enjoy the crazy.

I bought some yardage for the BOM and a bolt of the white on white from FQS. I usually get my orders very quickly from them but this time…it has been sitting in Ft. Worth for FIVE days! Ugh! I am so afraid my order is lost. Bought and received my half yard bundle weeks ago. As for the hardest person to buy for…that would be hubby. This year we aren’t buying for each other. We took an amazing trip this fall and that was our Christmas to each other too. Lucky for me this year! Love the new quilt patterns! Excited for the flannels!

I do have our gifts wrapped ! I usually do it very last minute so feel very proud of myself 😊 ! I think the hardest to buy for are our grown children . A few years ago my husband suggested we cook and freeze assorted prepared meals, buns, muffins etc.They really seem to love that . They are almost all empty nesters now but still like it.

The Most Difficult Gift to buy is for the People Affected by the Hurricane in North Carolina. We donated to a Giving Tree (For Toys) for the children but its difficult to decide what else to donate since their are so many needs, but I am sure I can find out what is most needed. My Favorites are the barn star and around town with the pretty color variation.

I have 6 grandkids I buy for and then my daughter & son and their spouses. I make small gifts for a lot of my neighbors. I am done shopping and need to get all the boxes and etc. put away.
