Thank you Michelle for telling us about this incredible royal saga in Spain. While I want to feel empathy for Corinna, I am having trouble doing so. She made a decision to play house with the former king, and then had to face the consequences. I am looking forward to the episode 5 !!!!!

Wow! Juan Carlos was very low down and dangerous! Poor Corina. I can’t imagine how she felt when snake of a King is chasing after you like that and then he lied about her stealing from the Country of Spain? He turned everyone against her. I would have went into hiding if it were me. Juan Carlos sounds like a very crazy and manipulative person? Can’t wait for the next episode!

Wow!! What a horrible mess! What a cliffhanger! And so well told, thank you Michelle. It's another world....makes me feel quite fortunate that I'm not super-rich and don't have to hob-nob with these types who think money and power buys them everything. I wouldn't have got involved with a married man in the first place. Obviously he wasn't ever truly in love with her - did she fool herself that he was? I mean, the relationship did benefit her hugely with her business. Until he turned nasty on her. He gives me the creeps, always did. I really really can't wait for the next episode!

She seems to be one of those plays-with-fire sort of gals! Tabloids and history are full of them.... Could she have settled down faithfully to an everyday sort of life with a husband and all the usual domestic responsibilities after the excitement and dangers of a 10yr affair with a king?

Oh my goodness, I am scared for Corrina with a target on her back. This is what happens when a person plays with fire, kinda reminds me of the movie Fatal Attraction, I say this because back when it first came out, my kid brother and his friends were scared straight after watching that movie, 😅 , and swore that they would never want to be in that position. Well, it worked. My brother was loyal to his one and only wife until the day he passed.I don't know about his friends because people come and go from our lives through the years after marriage. I would probably pull a 60-minute sit down with a hugh platform, kinda like what Princess Diana did with Martin Brassar. Scary stuff, enough to drive a person insane. Very interesting. I can't wait for the next episode. Please don't keep me in suspense, ❤ it.

The later life activities of Juan Carlos must be difficult for King Felipe to handle. On the other hand, there is a man in Australia who claims that he is the love child of King Charles and Camilla ...... some people take him seriously.

Thanks for the next instalment. I'm sorry I find it hard to feel sorry for any of them. Who accepts 65 million euros from a man and doesn't expect there to be a catch and it was another person's husband. I don't like how she was treated , but I find it hard to feel sorry for her.🐨🇦🇺🦘.

Yes, I agree with Joanna. Corina was poorly treated, but she walked into the situation. She kept going back to JC when he had already shown himself to be dangerous. She was greedy and arrogant and it cost her.

From reading history, I used to admire King Juan Carlos because he restored a constitutional monarchy to Spain after decades of dictatorship, but his behavior reminds me of out-of-control "Harold".

I missed this episode and subsequent ones. I never got notifications for them. About the content, I still wonder why she would have accepted 65 million Euros from the king as a golden handshake. For what?! For sleeping with him for 5 years? It doesn't make sense, and she should have questioned its purpose. Clearly, the king was using her bank account to launder money without getting caught. And the 30 million government money was also laundered for the same purpose. Is she trying to have us believe that she never realised she had an extra 30 million in her account? I doubt very much that she's that dumb! Something doesn't add up. King Carlos is obviously a scoundrel and he'd been planning his abdication years before he actually did it. But I cannot believe Corinna wasn't aware that something fishy was going on. I think that if Carlos didn't actually tell her, she must have realised but played the game of pretence to get her hands on all that wealth. Makes you wonder why exactly she became mistress of the devil king! But I'll go to the next episode and see what else happened. Thank you, Michel.

Hello, Michelle. I became aware of your history channel via the joint video with PDina. You are all going to dislike me on here but I do have some time for ex King Juan Carlos! Spain had been a dictatorship since the 1930s with General Franco at the helm. He was brutal and would brook no opposition. It was natural for him to buddy up with Hitler. He threw the King off the throne because he sided with the people and took the Duke of Bourbon aka Juan Carlos y Borbon to the military academy where he would be indoctrinated into the dictatorship's ways. Franco treated women as second class citizens and the contraceptive pill was banned from being imported. Spain was really very backwards in its thinking in the 1970s. Come 1975 and Franco died, the population assumed that there would be a continuation of the dictatorship and a power vacuum ensued. Elements of Franco's supporters in the army stormed the parliamentary chamber with guns and threatened the senators. Meanwhile, Juan Carlos went on TV and asked the army and the Spanish people to come with him on a journey to democracy and modernisation. I can remember it as clear as day because the BBC interrupted a programme for the reporting. Spain joined NATO and all other international organisations and became the modern nation we know today. On the minus front, JC did have a penchant for Princess Diana who kept moving away from him when she and Prince Charles holidayed with them in Majorca. He was part of an older generation of men and might have been influenced by older ideas that Franco gave him. Queen Sofia doesn't get on with Letitizia and they had a bit of a barny coming out of church once with Sofia wanting to take one granddaughter and Letitzia wanting to take the other! Lastly, at the Montecito 2's wedding reception, the bride told the groom 'see .. that's who we should be friends with (meaning King Felipe and Queen Letitizia)! Says it all really doesn't it?

I love this story. However if you wait too long between episodes I am losing interest. I understand you are busy but why not try reporting less about Harry and Meghan which everyone has covered. You have such a wonderful speaking voice that you could do a lot of stories about other Royals and scandals that readers would love.
