My wife and I watch you and Joe a lot. We have not been boating in 30 years...lots of memories! That is one super nice floor you got going there. Me and a buddy once almost sunk one of those (slow leaking pontoons) On the Colorado River just below Hoover Dam in 1994. Barely made it back to Willow Beach Ramp. Pulling it out of the water is another story...wait for it!

I would consider putting 1/4 inch spacer under all consoles and seating. It will make easy for water to drain when cleaning or if taking on water. Love the content Alfred!

Yes DO put fence (railing) risers for water drainage. Their small plastic spacers with eather notches or a hole for the fence anchor bolts to go thru. As old as your boat is it wasn't a thing when manufacturers. However all newer boats have them. As far as raising the furnature I'd advise against it. Seats need to be firmly anchored to the floor. Don't know if you noticed when removing the furniture the anchor screws were set in at an angle. That was done for a reason. Streight in screws with the rise & fall of wave action "WILL" pull out. As far as the inside & outside painting/decals on the fencing goes another suggestion. Minimum have the outside wrapped. I did & it was fantastic!! The fencing framework: I started out with seriously pitted aluminum. Had to wet sand before could even use aluminum cleaner & polish. Yours doesn't look bad at all, lucky. A good marine aluminum cleaner & tons of throw away rags. The black oxidation removed by the cleaner is NUTS!! Love the progress, it's going to be a fun family boat. Just NO inlets Backwater, intercoastal only!! 😂

Alfred, I can't wait to see the finished product. You'll have to trailer it up to Murphy and go out on Lake Hiawassee. BTW, your umbrella will be delivered by UPS on Friday. I was unable to get you one that has Murphy NC on it. But I did send you one that is white and oversized. You should get a lot of use out of it when you do the dingy series again. You're on your own as far as mounting it.

If your going to remove those stripes on the fencing, do it before you install the fencing. If you don't you'll have decals all down in the new carpet and it is a pain to get out.. I made that mistake on mine.

Boat is looking great with new floor. But, your railing needs seriously some much needed polishing and you should contact a company that has boat graphics to get you some really custom looks for your beatiful Grandpa boat. The graphics is what is going to really make your boat one of a kind. Should somewhere have in graphics a crock ( fred) in it with you and your camera in it also. I'm sure they can come up with some really cool stuff. Good luck on your boat. Wait for it.

Any skilled fabricator can make his own pontoon boat in his Garage really isn't that much to them. Why do you think Warren Buffet owns Bennington pontoon boats, Maximum number of margins for cheapest amount of labor, and cheapest material costs. And that is why he is one of the richest guys in the world.

Nope, not watching 7 hours worth of blathering to see the carpet going down. These types of videos show it best. Let the marina videos be their own thing. The carpeting looks great, and is SOOO much better than that slippery stuff you used the first time.
