Every now and again some young f***er comes along and redefines an instrument. Brilliant.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The concertina is a bit of fringe instrument in trad. Popular in Clare maybe. I've never heard it played like this. You get the odd fella playing trad mouth organ, but this is a different level. This fella is literally writing the rule book.

As Martin Banks says here, Cormac redefines the bass concertina. To hear him play this live a few years ago where he helped host our Canadian choir, Harmony Mountain Singers from North Vancouver was mind blowing and an incredible privilege.

Amazing! Anyone that's ever picked up a concertina and tried to squeeze out a song knows how hard it is to keep track of what tone coincides with the in & out of the bellows. I'd love to hear how many hours of practice went into this song.
