Hello preppy kitchen!! This recipie made my Thanksgiving! I was joining a friends place for thankgiving and I was told "it's alright you don't need to brung anything" but I was adamant I cook something for my friend. "Ok... You are in charge of the corn." Not to be out done, I decided I was going to find the best corn based dish out there and I stumbled upon your corn casserole!! It left my kitchen a mess but It was so much fun to make!! Changes I made: -Added two diced jalapenos for extra zest. -didnt have milk so I used 3 cups of half and half. -9 eggs and a layer of bread crumbs on the top cheese. Needless to say it was a the fave dish!! Especially when combined with salsa/hot sauce! It had the consistency of keesh. Thank you so much for this recipe!

Use a tube pan. Stabilize the corn on the tube as you cut corn from cob kernels fall into to pan. Mess is confined. My husband is Greek, so there is never too much garlic in anything. Love your videos and appreciate your receipts. Your carrot cake is family favorite. The orange zest puts it over the top. Good health to you and family.

You can use a small bowl turned upside down in a larger bowl, or some people use a bundt pan. Stand the ear of corn on the upturned small bowl, and as you cut it off of the cob, it will fall into the larger bowl, with less mess. Thank you for reminding me about this recipe. My grandmother had one that the whole family loved, but I couldn't remember exactly just what she put in it. She didn't use the cheese as you did, but I was able to remember what it was. I'm going to be making it for dinner tomorrow. Thanks again. I really like your show. I'm new, but will be visiting you quite a bit just to watch you cooking. I like the way you talk about what you are doing. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

In my family, corn casserole is a must at every special meal. I was given this recipe in 1991, and I still make it every time my son's come home with their families. My recipe is an easier version of this one.... so I thought I would share it. Easy Corn Casserole 1 stick melted butter 2 eggs, beaten 1 can regular corn, drained 1 can cream style corn 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix 8 oz. sour cream Mix first four ingredients well. Stir in cornbread mix until combined. Add sour cream and mix well. Cook at 350 degrees until set but not browned. I make this is an oval baking dish, so it is bit thicker and takes longer to cook. If you put it in a 9 x 13 inch pan it will cook quicker. The trick is to not overcook it so it remains more pudding like! There are lots of versions of this recipe, but I have brought this one to many gatherings (back when we could gather) and I always get many requests for the recipe. I will be trying John's recipe, but if you need a quick side dish to throw together this one's a winner!

@PreppyKitchen - Hi John, a neat little trick I've picked up for removing the skin/peel (or whatever you want to call it) from garlic cloves, is to put them in a container with a lid, and shake it like crazy for about 30 seconds depending on how many cloves you put in. They come out nice and whole. If there's still a stubborn one, just shake a bit more, and jobs a good 'n! 😊👍 This corn casserole looks delicious BTW! 😋☺️👍
