At nearly 80 years old I have seen a lot of cooks. But you are probably the most informative instructor that I watch on KZbin. I may not plan to use your recipe exactly but your explanation and directions are enjoyable to watch.I will be recommending your channel to anyone who wants to learn how to cook something. I only recently found her channel and without even seeing any other comments I told a friend who I shared the channel with, that I thought it was so cute how she says " my Ron". What a huge library of recipes she has. I want to try them all. Her fried chicken recipe was the first one of her's that I tried and it is the best I have ever made, easy with super clear instruction. 14.5 ounces and 15.25 ounces for your canned corn. They USED TO BE 1-pound cans back in the day before the age of smaller cans = less product and raise that price, too!

I love making something very similar but I like to bake it in muffin tins. This way I can freeze them and take out one or two as needed. I can microwave it or heat it up in the toaster oven. Great with a bowl of Chilli or soup or as a side for a roast turkey, bbq chicken or brisket.

That looks so delicious. The best I ever had was in my hospital cafeteria in the early 90s. They served the best food. Some older Southern ladies were great cooks. The best dressing and gravy. Fabulous rolls, cakes and pies. Not a bunch of frozen stuff back then.😊

I didn't have sour cream, I used a combination of cream cheese and cottage cheese and blended with a tablespoon of white vinegar. It worked. Wonderful tasty casserole! Thank you!♥

At our Family Night Pot Luck Suppers at church, a lady used to being this same recipe minus the onions and cheese at the end. Think she made a double recipe If you weren't close to the beginning of the line, you missed out. Every one loved it including me. She gave me the recipe. Yummy.

My husband has made a recipe very similar to this for several years. While he omits the onions, he chooses to use brown sugar. The unexpected sweet touch always gets rave reviews, and often have folks going back for seconds. I like your idea of topping with shredded cheese! Rachel, I made your casserole today. They didn't have green onions at the store so I substituted yellow onions. It was delicious. My husband had seconds, and my brother said he could eat the whole pan. I'm going to try it Italian style next time, using ricotta, and a little touch of oregano, I want with the red pepper flakes rather than the jalapeno. I made this tonight and it was so good I had 3 helpings. I made it very basic w just the green onions as an addition but next time I’m going to put more onions and also some jalapeños. It will be a nice balance to the sweet and I love spice. Ty for another winner !

My mom made a similar recipe; her version called for an 8-ounce brick of cream cheese. I don't know if that was in addition to the sour cream, or in place of it; I'd tend to think it was in addition, when I recall the taste. In any case, it was something that always made an appearance on the table at Thanksgiving, and of course it would be just fine for Christmas and others. Love this easy recipe in muffin papers. My only change is to add just a little tiny bit of bacon with the onions and cheese topper. YUM! The muffin papers can be purchased for the specific holiday and make it a finger food. Great along with sausage balls too. Thank you Rachel! Luv p

How long did you cook them for in muffin papers? I would think the 45 min cooking time is reduced. I want to cook these for a potluck.
