How fast do you run on corn and beans ?

I grew up in Illinois helping my Dad harvest with the 6600 six row corn head. Your video took me back, especially when you engaged the head and could here the squacking. Im 67 now…. and it seemed like yesterday. Thank you.

Im 66 years old.......I have this combine..... 4 row 444 header...... 38 inch rows. I bought it with the understanding its faster then my old.......New Idea 324 two row picker. I was so wrong !!!!! Doing the work " alone " I could do 2 semi loads of shelled corn a day. I can only do 1 and a half loads with my 6600 combine ! Again.......Im alone......and do everything alone. You do more chasing of wagons and stopping to dump then you do picking corn !! Take the wagons to one end of the field.....stop each dump......then get the wagons again. My two row....pick until the wagon is full......get another wagon. Now lets talk about the fuel.........repairs ?? I can do 40 acres with my air conditioned cab.... with 35 gallons of fuel. I spent 250 dollars on my two row over 35 years of using it. Think twice about owning one of these dinosaurs ! Yes.... the New Idea picker shells corn on the rolls.......but 2 bushels per acre ??? Ill take it !

Is this video of current activities or older content? Watching from Australia, you guys do things a fair bit different to us .

This is from fall of 22. More specifically October. Thanks for watching. I’m open to answering any questions you have about the way we operate.

@@woolcreekfarm6157 ah righteo, makes more sense. Do you need to get a permit to tow your gravity wagons down public roads ?
@woolcreekfarm6157 Жыл бұрын
Nope it’s usually just as simple as a slow moving vehicle sign on the back. I luckily only travel a few miles to the elevator.

6600 looks to be in great shape. I do see a grain truck in your future though.
