Thank you for capturing some in depth footage/details of seed corn harvest. This was really interesting to watch and gain awareness of the similarities and differences between commercial corn and seed corn harvesting.

Just fascinating, Cale! Great video! The look on your face was priceless when y’all met that other picker head. Ha!

Thanks for the video... Entertaining as always! And ( 3:14 ) thanks for showing the combine internals! The level of engineering complexity is crazy impressive! 14:56 - Made me nervous!

love the corn pickers, back in the 2004&05 I ran a OXBOW Super Jack articulated picker the tank was all one unit , they are a beast I never got stuck , the dump wagon would pull in the empty trucks into the muddy field & I would pause picking to pull the full trucks out this was picking organic sweet corn

Why is seed corn picked on the cob, as opposed to using "regular" combines with corn head, to harvest?
@brewster5739 Жыл бұрын
The seed company they grow for wants it left on the cob so they can remove the kernels.

It would be nice if you explained whet your doing in the seed picker and the difference between it and your combine ...

as a life long radio man wondering why not a higher gain radio antenna for your farm radio system that would give your repeater better coverage than the current one you have mounted on your high point on the grain storage high point

Question about the cover crops: when you put the cattle in there to feed, do they pull the turnips and radishes out and eat them or only eat the greens?

Does anyone know why sea corn is harvested on ear? Is the threshing section of the combine too rough on it?

0:09 Is that your base-station radio antenna? Do not see these often anymore. As a *in-the-past* FCC licensed GMRS radio person, I was impressed with the UHF band, for line of site comm.’s. Not as impressed with VHF band. You have quite an impressive Farm operation.

Is there better $$$ in Seed Corn versus Conventional Corn? And Do ya Cut and bale the Corn for Feed?

It's a little bit better pay but also more work it can be a nice niche for a farmer

So these are contractors that you hire to harvest your crops? or did you take us to another farm harvest? Amazing watching how America gets its food from the hard working men and women at farms.
@LEAADFarms Жыл бұрын
These are contracted through the seed company. But most of them are farmers in my area and some of them also grow seed.

He said so last video. I hope that still is the case. That sounds awfully expensive otherwise.
