Corn Planter Pick Up- Twice The Size!! How Will It Fit Down The Road??

From Quincy IL...You were thru my area! Glad you found a planter. I used to haul ammonia to all those coops going across hwy36. MFA was our main customer. Yes POET is a Ethanol plant.

Yeah i was rolling west from dayton to Indianapolis to get my next load of bottled water. I didnt realize the road trip was for a planter and spotted you running east but i just caught a glimpse i thought hmmm that would be interesting if that was you guys and it was. Blue gm with gooseneck and a john deere planter. Made my day a bit more interesting since today was a low day for me since 14 years since i got a call that my dad died. Tractor was miss behaving and dad was working on her in the barn and tractor carbon monoxided him

Chris I'll give you a piece of advice, when you get home go through the whole thing check all your bushings all your shims in each row unit make sure the condition of the closing Wheels, and by all means if it does not have a set of precision meters on it get them. I am a grow mark seed salesman in Western Pennsylvania if you're not familiar we are what once was Agway in the Northeast and we offer service on planners particularly deers and we offer conversions to go from the standard deer unit to precision units. I highly recommend it I have a completely rebuilt 7000 four rows if we did about 15 years ago and then about 5 years ago updated to the precision units. They advertise what they call a picket fence stand and you will get it and it's worth every penny, you're standing there and it's nice if I was rebuilding one today that is exactly what I would do. Not trying to sound arrogant I am just speaking from experience wish you the best with it hope it works out well

I run an 8204 terragator with a 70' airmax system like that JD here in NY on the crop farm i work for. I love running it, 20+ mph in field when spreading will keep you on your toes!!

I didn't see any JD 2 cylinders! Years ago, some CO. was transporting a yacht, they were not to get off the highway as the mast was to high- So the driver decides to get off and get something to eat and he took out all the power wires & poles coming off the exit , three towns were out of power for three days, and the chopped up the yacht!

That 8 row planter is a big move up from that tired 4 row you’ve been running! You should shop farther west for a prime HP tractor. My Uncles old 820 Versatile sold last weekend at auction for $4K. He ran it almost 30 years and kept on top of all the maintenance and repairs. I couldn’t believe such a good old machine would go so cheap but he’s retiring out. Next out of the yard will be his 895 and Cat Challenger…
