Amy do you not put rubbed sage in your dressing?
@amyslouisianakitchen Жыл бұрын
The poultry seasoning has Sage in it.
@leeannafitzgerel874010 ай бұрын
That would go together much easier if you had heated the broth and stock with the soups until it was all smooth and boiling. It goes into the cornbread much better, blending the seasonings so much better. Put it in smaller bags before it goes into the freezer to cool quickly and it will not sour. It sours when it stays too hot for too long. If you lay it flat on several shelves to cool it quickly you won't have a problem.

About maybe 12. Thing is if I only cook a small amount for exactly how many I invited it doesn't turn out well inevitably I always have someone ask can their family come with them. Or lots of nieces and nephews bring their friends. So I never know and I just make lots. Lol.
@afamilycloset2 жыл бұрын
I make a huge chicken and dressing almost exactly like yours. I add 2 or 3cans of cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, and cream of celery. I do add more raw eggs, but I think that is the only difference. This was my great grandmother’s recipe handed down to my grandmother and then my mother. My mother passed when I was in my forties so it then became my labor of love. One more thing… my mother started adding a couple of tablespoons of chili powder to a huge recipe like yours. It doesn’t make it taste Mexican at all. It just gives it a little extra kick. We all loved it so that is also something I always do. Yours is the first that I’ve come across that is almost the same as ours. I love watching your videos and love the way you and your husband are so in love. Tell John that I’ve made cat head biscuits but he brought it to a whole new level. I can’t wait to try his way. Love y’all!!!

I usually watch you on FB so I'm just now finding you on YT. Im so glad! Speaking of short cuts, my former (I dont say ex) great grandmother taught me how to make dressing. She always cooked all of her eggs in the cornbread. For the pans you made, she would probably use about 8 eggs in each. She did this because she was afraid of tasting the dressing with raw eggs. I do it that way, too, because her dressing was the best I ever had. Thank you for sharing your methods! I love seeing the different ways people cook. 😊

I make mine about like you except I use my turkey drippings/chicken stock and don't add any chicken meat. I use a food processor to grind up my cornbread and 8 biscuits.. I like the texture it gives my dressing.. I do all the cooking for my family now. I cook turkey, ham, cornbread dressing/gravy, green beans, collards, cream corn, deviled eggs, macaroni pie (that's what we call baked macaroni and cheese here in Upstate SC), sometimes candied yams and potato salad if I have the time, yeast rolls and sweet tea.. If I had the freezer space I would love to cook ahead and freeze also. I make big pans of everything like you..
