Chef Amy.. Yummy looking chicken.. I never cut up a chicken before but as The Rookie Chef, I think I will try it for the first time and introduce it to my first time Chef's.. and that gravy is fire! The sampler is yummy goodness.. John is such a sweetheart to you.. Love the way he appreciates your love and care.. Beautiful video.. Also my condolences to your loss.. Lots of years growing up with folks can be very hard to cope with when these things happen. Y'all enjoy and know that The Rookie Chef always here.. I got a few new videos for you to catch up on.. You put a 😀 on this old face today. So good to see you, my friend! Love that you’re making fried chicken 🍗 and gravy! A favorite of my sweet Daddy’s. He liked milk gravy with enough pepper “so he could see it”! Lol! Our family probably liked milk gravy because that was all we knew. I cut up a chicken ‘once’ for surprise dinner for a friend who was bringing her newborn baby boy home. It was a surprise indeed! 😂 I was in my early 20’s and had not exhibited any desire to learn to cook yet. It is affectionately referred to as “The Day Vikki Broke That Chicken Down!” More like ripped that sucker apart! 😜 All kidding aside, your food looked amazing! I know it was delicious ! John’s eyes were sparkling more than usual! You look so pretty as usual. You also look smaller. I hope the work overload and stress are not weighing heavily on you. I love you, 💕 girlie! I’m enjoying Rookie Chef!! Thanks for the referral. 💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 You look so small in this video. Have you lost weight? If so, I hope it wasn’t due to stress. You always look so pretty to me. I guess I shouldn’t have asked this question but you know I mean no harm, just concerned and wanting you to be well and happy.

Vikki girl I know you mean no harm. You are the sweetest. And girl I can report I haven't lost one single solitary pound😄😑 must just be what I'm wearing. @@amyslouisianakitchen I changed the wording and took that line from an old song. I can hear the melody in my head but this old memory can’t recall the song but I CAN remember one of my “adopted” girls singing it when she was just a little girl. (She just turned 60) She would sing “The night they laid ole Lucy down!” She was always getting words mixed up. When she turned 16 and got her driver”s license she came with me to LA the first time I visited. She nearly tore my foot off driving my straight gear car, but that’s a story for another time. Let’s just say that in 1978 I left some of my Big Toe’s Skin on the blacktop of a truck stop somewhere between TN and LA! 😂😂😂 I couldn’t stand it so I googled the song. 🎶 🎶 The Night They Tore Ole Dixie Down 🎶 🎶 I’m sorry about asking if you’d lost weight…I know better than that…but that outfit certainly complimented you. Your little arms looked so small. You have to have muscles in your arms as hard as you work. You should see mine..my right arm has a lot of “Arm Flog” flapping in the breeze with a little ant hill of a muscle. This is my dominant side. My leftie just has the “Arm Flog”. A good strong wind and someone dragging me outdoors and I’d take flight! Might not touch ground until I reached Farmerville! 😂 We will save my thighs for another time as well. Oh my Word!! On the serious note, Amy girl, I’m about to lose another one of my best friends. Her name is Linda. She had no symptoms until 3 weeks before her cancer diagnosis. At this time it was metastatic. She had no clue. The good Lord did make a way so I could see her. My sister took me to her house and I used my rollator. My oxygen ran out but I didn’t care. The chemo is keeping her alive yet killing her at the same time. Because she has the ca in so many organs, she’s on 3 kinds of chemo. Will you, John and your church pray for her? I love you, Amy, My Sunshine ☀️ on a cloudy day…🎶🎶 I’m just one if ever so many of your peeps and nothing special at that but I’m very thankful to be one of the many! I don’t think you realize how much your smiling face brightens the hearts and lives of so many of us. Many days I don’t see a soul or talk to anyone on the phone. That’s why I love you. 😘 I found you right about when you began I think. Before Covid anyway. You took me through the 😷 Pandemic up to now. I wish there was something I could do for you. QUESTION: What do you use when you need to slice a layer of cake horizontally? Like if you need to make 4 layers out of 2? Wouldn’t that make a wonderful Strawberry Shortcake? I’ve been craving this and could possibly make it diabetic legal? 😴 Good night 💤 💜💜🙏🏻🙏🏻

@@TheRookieChefYoungReno I’m very happy too. It’s always good to make new friends. Amy has so much on her plate I don’t know how she manages to do all she does. Last summer I enjoyed her taking us with her as she planted her garden and put her canned goods up. She’s a smart lady. She will be prepared for when bread goes up to $6 a loaf, which is where I’ve heard it is heading. She will have plenty of food and supplies stocked up. I hear wheat is going to be hard to come by and there’s a lot of people who have no clue about making bread 🥖 even if they find flour or use a substitute flour. I can live without bread except I love me some cornbread. Turnip greens and cornbread make me happy. I love to cook but due to health concerns I’m unable to be on my feet long enough to make anything. I like to cook for other people. I do not like to bake or make candy though. That’s my sister, Donna’s thing. My brother also does the cooking at his house, I’m scheduled to have an injection in my spine on the 15th of June. I’ve had 3 before and 2 of the 3 really helped. Praying this one does because if I don’t get to where I can walk more I will become w/c bound. My leg muscles are becoming atrophied. I have had many many falls and the last one was a doozy. I’ve had 2 fractured vertebrae, a couple of herniated disks, scoliosis, and my back gives me so much pain I mostly lie around like a useless old sloth! Well, my friend, here it is 5:20 am and I’m still awake. I rarely ever sleep. I didn’t watch many videos today. We have a little 6 year old girl who has been missing since last June 15th. Her parents are as sketchy as all get out. Her name is Summer Wells. Her brothers have been removed from the home and are in Foster Care. The Dad, a druggie and heavy drinker, is in jail for breaking his parol. The Mom is 40 years old and acts like she is 14. I follow it pretty close since they live in the same county as I do. I personally think they sold her. It breaks my heart to even think what some of this world’s precious children go through at the hands of the ones who should be their greatest protectors. Well, Chef, I need to try to sleep a little bit. As we age, sleep becomes much more important to us. I can vouch for that. Today, June 3rd My Mama will have been gone 7 years at 5:24 pm. I miss her so much. I depended on her much more than I realized for someone of my age. I was blessed with a wonderful family. Take care, my friend, and I will catch up on some more of your videos tomorrow. I’m feeling better than I have in many days. Good night or good morning, whichever way you are headed! 💜🙏🏻

Amy, I’m so sorry I failed to mention your friend. I saw it when your classmate posted it on Facebook and responded then with prayer. I understand how much it hurts to lose our friends, even those we haven’t seen since high school. My high school has a private fb group that keeps us up to date as far as sickness, if known, and deaths with obits. Goes back to the first class that began at my school. A year or so before I was born. We can honor their memory on this group page. If your school doesn’t have one of these, it would be a great thing to have. It is a lot of work and things must be verified but would be a good project for a small group of your classmates….but not you. You have enough. Prayers for your friend’s family, church family, friends, classmates and everyone who loved him🙏🏻

Vikki our school does have one of those private groups and we all love it so much. Makes us feel younger I guess. And yes we can learn what is happening with everyone. I love those groups.

Mmmmm I'm frying up a chicken for my son tomorrow. I made chili and a Turkey pot pie today, will be taken to Eddie on Friday he was in the hospital 4 months with covid19 came home 3 weeks ago, his wife can't cook haha Eddie is on oxygen so no cooking for him can't even go into the kitchen. Excuse me I'm just going on and on. Thank you for sharing Ms Amy have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy.( Momma taught all the girls 5 of us how to cut up a chicken) 65 + years ago, her famous words cheaper to buy a whole bird then buy already cut up. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I agree with your Momma 💯 percent! Debbie don't you be worrying about going on and on. You know I always do. I am so thankful you shared this with us about Eddie. He is needing some prayer. That is a horrible time with Covid. Bless his heart 💜 poor thing. Please keep me posted on his progress.

Debbie Reilly, it’s also most likely safer to buy a whole chicken and cut it up because Ive heard horror stories about chicken 🍗 that has been cut up. One thing I heard that I can’t say is a fact and I do still buy chicken that is cut up, is that as the chicken begins to discolor and look bad there is a spray they can use that makes the chicken look fresh again. I really don’t want to believe this. I 💯 believe they shoot the chicken breasts up with steroids or something to make them look like they have had Breast Augmentation! 😂

miss Amy do you have a meatball stew, you would be willing to share also just a regular lasagna, i know you have your lasagna soup, and ravioli lasagna but i was wondering if you had a more traditional recipe you would share.

This is exactly how I was taught to cut up a chicken, but I haven't done that in a long time. Sure looks good!!!! I thought y'all were fixing to eat your meal and he said he needed a saucer I thought WHAT? But it was just the taste test!
