Wow! Two of my favorite ladies collaborating 💕. I have had this before but never made it. Someone brought it to our family reunion! We didn’t get to have one last year, but we are this year…the last Saturday of this month! I better get to planning what to cook 🤣😂. Thankfully, I don’t have to travel cause I live on part of our old family land💕. Some of the churches here do still have dinner on the grounds, as well as one cemetery that I know of. New subscriber. Yes we still do dinner on the grounds. Even though we are blessed with a picnic shelter, blankets still lay everywhere and chairs on ground. Small country church and we call it decoration and homecoming. We decorate graves same day. Good recipe

Everything Miss Katie says about the salad is T.R.U.E. ! I made this very recipe, from her cookbook, four weeks ago for our sewing day. Every Friday my sisters and I spend the day with Mom to quilt, knit, tat, or whatever else we’re working on and we ‘carry in’ lunch (funnily, Dad and the brothers usually wander in about then). Everyone loved the Cornbread Salad. The only trouble I have with Miss Katie’s cookbook is deciding which recipe to try next. Thank you!💖

Thank you for such sweet encouragement. What originally began in 1988 as Scrabble Day turned into Sewing Day about 25 years ago (with Scrabble thrown in from time to time). I taught my Mom and two sisters to tat as well as many others since then; I hope you have the opportunity to learn. I am rarely without a shuttle and ball of thread in my pocketbook; it is relaxing and very portable. There are some very good tutorials right ‘here’ on YT. Thanks, again.

I use those mixes all the time. Add 1 egg sour cream cottage cheese and shredded cheese and a splash of milk. Bake a.d serve. My family LOVES IT.

Our church calls it homecoming I remember growing up this was like Christmas, my mama made cakes and pies and always she would fry like 4 whole chickens to take.
