And, research shows that violent crimes are usually perpetuated by those of the same 'race', but there is no mention of 'white on white' crime. It's a situation of proximity. Where there's poverty, crime is likely to exist, and since there is an overwhelming abundance of impoverished people of color, particularly Blacks, Latinx, and Indigenous due to systemic racism and ongoing institutions that affect the wealth of those groups, then crimes in those impoverished areas run rampant. What I see overlooked or simply not discussed when it comes to violent crimes is socioeconomics.

But from what I can recall, just about every statistic Candace throughout (some of which were totally irrelevant to the conversation) had absolutely no context… showing she either didn’t care about PROPERLY understanding the numbers, or she simply didn’t know how to conceptualize the information, or that there NEEDED to be context added to represent them properly. To a GREAT MANY of these “hasty generalizations” ( logical fallacy), Dr. West PROVIDED context from actual scholarly sources AND history, which not only deflated the sound bite statistics Candace has used time and again, but directly addressed WHY her conclusions were logical leaps (hasty generalization) and did NOT support her position or claims. Without giving a specific example from memory, this is a consistent theme throughout the video. In other clips and conversations, people sort of “ooohhhh” and “aaahhh” about the barrage of statistics she throws out (because most people don’t think critically), but here, Candace deals with a true scholar with a history of demonstrated academic and practical experience. He doesn’t just study reports and respond to sound bites, he has lived his vocation practically for decades. That isn’t something the modern activist is used to, so CONTEXT catches then off guard. Again, I am definitely a conservative. But part of that position is a rejection of hyper-relativism: the truth is the truth, even when you don’t like it. A bad argument is bad, even when it sounds good and supports your position. Candace has a lot of bad arguments, and not because the information doesn’t exist to support her position (the conservative position), but because she uses bad logic to teach her conclusions, and sometimes misrepresents information to get there.

Black people were entering the middle class of American lifestyle in less than a decade out of slavery. Black children outperformed white children in school. In that same 10-year period 4000 black people were lynched or burned alive. She doesn't want to talk about the millions of affordable homes that were built in the suburbs that were underwritten by the federal government. The state's pitched in with new roads and modern Public Schools. The purpose of the plan was to stabilize American families and give them a means to develop wealth over time through home ownership. The plan worked beautifully but there was one stipulation, NO BLACK PEOPLE ALLOWED! This wasn't some communities personal preference it was the damn law nationwide. It was illegal to sell one of those homes to a black family. The freeways that were built to connect those Suburban neighborhoods to downtown were built right through black communities. Dispersing and destroying what little cohesiveness had been established by a familiarity. Black communities were scattered. Black businesses were always the backbone of the black community. Then institutions like Banks and insurance companies got together and decided to redline black communities. It didn't matter what your credit score was or Equity position the answer was "NO "and black businesses were destroyed. At the same time America was welcoming with open arms immigrants primarily from Southeast asia. The banks and insurance companies that discriminated against black people warmly welcomed the new immigrants to take over commerce in the black community. Black Welfare required that no man be in the household but these recent immigrants were subsidized as a family. Black dollars used to circulate up to 20 times in the black community now that money leaves every day at sundown. It's going to develop another ethnic group. The Asians have become one of the most successful communities in America built on black dollars. The War on Drugs was a war on black people. We were told just to say no but now that the opioid and Fentanyl crisis has struck Middle America suddenly the agenda is not to lock them up and throw away the key but drug treatment and Rehabilitation. This Satanic black witch has no idea the implications of so many black communities being wiped off the face of the map by deputized white mobs who were insulted by black success. Successful black people were routinely tortured and murdered and then put on display as a warning to other black people that success can get you killed. The effects of Jim Crow laws which were designed to undermine and Destroy black progress still have an impact on today's society in the black community. There are people alive today who remember what it was like not to be able to use a public toilet or enter through the front door of many government buildings and businesses. She's quick to tell you that more white people are killed by the police well they're 200 million more white people in this country. Yes black people do commit a disproportionate number of crimes but that was to be expected when so much effort is put into undermining and destroying black people. Both of my grandfathers were murdered and nothing done about it because they were successful black man. Are we supposed to believe that didn't have an impact on my mother and father? My mother and father never voted in their lives because they were terrified of even the prospect of registering to vote. That simple step of citizenship could easily get a black person killed maybe even the entire family killed. It's no secret even black children were dragged out of their homes and murdered because they violated some Jim Crow law. In my opinion Dr West was entirely to agreeable with this bottom feeding black witch. I would have confronted this boot Kissel with the facts of why black people are in the condition they are today. Talking about the symptoms of racism doesn't solve the problem either. The root cause has been institutional and it has been going on for Generations. Now we're supposed to play stupid like it wasn't supposed to have a deterious effect on the black community. It's only now with the widespread use of video cameras that we see first hand State sponsor terrorism. We are trusting the terrorists to police themselves. They always talk about the number of black people shot but a slick trick is to choke or beat to Death black people. No they're not shot but they are just as dead. Candice Owens outrageous slander of the black community is designed to highlight the symptoms of racism. Only a sliver of black people are actually killed by whites. You ain't got to kill somebody to destroy them. Slavery, Jim Crow laws, segregation, deputies white mobs, and second class citizenship is perpetrated by that so-called sliver of racist white nationalist who gained state and federal power. It only takes a few congressmen or senators to impact black people's lives. The 13th Amendment is a perfect example. Slavery was abolished in America except for the punishment of a crime. That was easy to overcome just create some laws just for black people. The convict leasing program was even more profitable than slavery.

@Michael Paysour and my point wasn't to debate the issues, but point out that Cornell West is confusing and scattered. What you wrote had much more clarity than listening to Dr. West for 2 hours. He is all over the place.
