How well I remember Cornell! He always had a smile whenever I saw him in the studio, or simply around the country. Just thought of him, ran across this vid posted and grooved! Such a big sound off that Mikell's small stage.

Thanks for this. Used to hang out at Mikells when he played there. If there are more videos from those shows, please post them. One of the finest guitar players of all time, and king of the shuffle.

RIP May 9 2011. The great, the incomparable, unique Cornell Dupree. A tremendous loss to the music world. An inspiring musician and a gentle soul.

This solo is definitely worth memorizing. Deep Fried with a side order of C.Christian. I mean, Cornell! Damn. This is a great post.

Yeah - that sound is really awesome. Me too, long time I've been a fan and it's the first time I've seen Cornell playing a Les Paul. Thank you !

I agree 100% Cornell is one of the unsung heros of Funk/R&B. Hell, not many people know this, but Cornell and Jimi Hendrix (along with Chuck Rainey) were is King Curtis' band at the same time! There's actually a few tracks with the lineup floating around.
