Gadd has that ability to take a simple quarter note and put it in just the right spot so you can really appreciate the value of that note.It's easy to throw every chop you've learned at something and that's what it ends up sounding like.Gadd like you say composes. He utilizes space, giving the notes structure in that way.He's also great with contrasting nice rhythmic textures tastefully with what the band is doing.
