Great debate. This needs to be looked into more closely via empirical research with a large portion of businesses using AI nowadays

If a person wants to live on a fairly minimal, but reasonably sustainable lifestyle, and not work - being lazy moochers: LET THEM. Give them the basics. Everyone with reasonable ability and opportunity to strive for and gain more: WILL DO SO. If I can feel useless and have a 'meh' standard of living, or feel productive and proud of accomplishing things worthwhile - gaining more money and getting the cool new gaming system or camera drone or vehicle: I'm choosing the upgraded and worked for lifestyle every single time. Most people would.

Anytime you start with, “don’t listen to toe bogus statistics you’ve just heard from the person who came before me.” You’ve automatically lost.

You can tell that Harvard's first speaker has done proper, competitive debates before by listening to his strategy, structure, and terminology in comparison to Cornell's first speaker's slightly messy speech

@@hudaarmoosh5771 I am new to debating and I'm confused. Are you one? Can you help me with this? (It keeps me wondering for this whole day) (I'm still searching for the answers...) -> 1. Is it fair if you can't choose your side in a debate? I think there's always a better winning chance for one side than the other. Like me, I don't think I can fight for some arguments that I don't believe in (or obviously wrong to me). What would you do? 2. Can we debate anything, any topic, any conclusion? Because if the chosen topic is not right nor wrong (Like: Money can buy happiness). I wouldn't fight because I know it's up to your own opinion.

@@JuneJulia I was in international debate 3 days ago, the judges were from Oxford, I have answers from their feedbacks.. First as one of the judges said that beauty of the debate is even there is a lot of disadvantages in your said ( if you believe or not) is to convince that it's still a good side and we have to do it. So whatever side you are in you have to work for your side, The debate training gives you the critical thinking skills.. you can't have this skill if you was holding this believes ( I can't win my side is wrong) .. you ll always have a path to damage the oppessition argument, by re -battling and have a good debate structure.. Even thought the judges will judge on who could damage the others speak not "who is right" So focus ..the goal of being a debater is to have the critical mined. // Your second question in another comment //

@@JuneJulia Second, yes you can debate everything the motion say. How ? If you were in that debate an Opening government you ll do borders and limits of where this argument will go by definition the words in the motion as you think its good and suitable. If you were in the opposite team you could argue the definition wish the gov. believes in, And structure your argument and your battles on it. So you put the rules mostly, and by doing points of information (POI)

Cornell had a more convincing argument and actually answered in a manner that includes the impact of tech on the rest of the world. I'm quite surprised that Harvard's team which has champions gave a very myopic discussion limiting their points within America work culture, politics and policies. Both teams however delivered relevant points which is the greatest challenge with such a broad subject because how can we define what's bad for workers? Having a higher salary and hence access to basic needs and material goals yet decreased satisfaction with life and work could be acceptable in some cultures. This itself is very debateable. It perhaps would have helped if each team defined what's considered bad at the beginning? Some formats of debates - particularly the British's - favour such a style so it is a challenge on presenting substance addressing very objective matters without a need to rely on dismissive statements about the other team as part of a charade to garner support. The latter is very much a political debate style than one of intellectual debates like this.
