Omg!!! Thank you. I am doing my first c2c rectangle and could not find anything to help me understand decreasing on one side. And I could not figure out why my work was giving pointed corners on the end. I was decreasing on the beginning of each row. This made so much more sense!!! Thank you thank you thank you!

Was at the half way point, loved my width, needed to add length. Could not find videos teaching that. Asked hubby his opinion. Just imagine deer in headlights look! Ha ha! Then I found your video. It confirmed what I thought would be the correct way. Thank you for going all the way to end with it and putting together a great video. Proves you can teach an old dog new tricks. Perfect tutorial! Thank you so much. I'm really loving C2C. I've got 2 C2C blankets going, one is a square and the second one is a baby blanket which now I will do as a rectangle. So ingenious! Whoever came up with this technique is brilliant. Many thanks for your simple instructions, straight forward and to the point, like it should be 👍❤️

Thank you for this video. I like the way you use the markers. I'm making my first graphgan using directions instead of the graph. After row 90, it says reduce from the right..Do I assume row 91 is the beginning of the right side? Then after row 100, reduce from the left.Again, is row 101 the left side? I hope you can help me out. Thank you.

I seem to do the decrease for the first "no build" side of the rectangle just fine. My problems begin when I start decreasing on both sides to finish the rectangle. I learned to chain 3 up the side of the decrease, then SS into the chain of the first "mountain" instead of SS up the side. The problem I have is that I don't seem to decrease quickly enough and my last corner ends up elongated, a sort of funnel shape, if you can imagine that. I've frogged this corner about 3 times now and it's driving me MAD! I count, I add stitch markers, I do everything but stand on my head. I'll do that as best I can if necessary. Anyone have any ideas?
@moniquep.341
@moniquep.341 6 жыл бұрын
Can you give us some gidelines on when to start decreasing (both times) when you have a limited amount of yarn? (Example: would you have enough yarn when you start decreasing on one side when you’ve used 1/3rd of your yarn and start the second decrease when you have used 2/3rd of your yarn?)
@SecretYarnery
@SecretYarnery 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Monique! With a rectangle, it's a tricky one. You just have to guess. I imagine the best way to calculate is to weight the piece when you are starting the first decrease. That would give you a good idea of how much yarn you will need to save for the final decrease. Hope that helps? xx!

You don't need stitch markers. It becomes obvious what you're going to do and where the further you go. I've never used stitch markers for any version of this pattern.

Ok I’ve decided to do the rectangle and make a small laphgan. I only gave 6 balls of Bernat blanket yarn so can you tell me how I would know when it’s a long as it can be. Would I just stop making it longer after I’ve used the third ball and start decreasing? Txs 🙂
