I did it! My square is complete! I used cotton yarn so I can use it as a dishcloth. Unfortunately no new grandbabies coming along. We lost one a year ago this month but we are blessed! We have nine. Our youngest grandchild is recovering from his third open heart surgery. He is 2 years old and this should be his last surgery! He’s a real trooper along with his parents. And his doctors are amazing! Huge shout out to Boston Children’s Hospital; the best in the world!💕

Well, we are all stronger and grateful for our blessings! I tried to be truthful in saying why I wouldn’t be doing a c2c blanket anytime soon. But I’ve always wanted to learn how. I’m not sure there will be a new baby any time soon. I guess I planned on making it as a blanket for our grandson who went to heaven. I think they are perfect or they look perfect for newborns. I find I am using thick chenille yarn for my younger grandchildren’s blankets because they work up so fast and are soft and squishy! Heck, my older ones love them too! Thanks for your kind words! Our grandson may come home tomorrow! I will try and post my pictures of my c2c washcloth. It was a lot of fun and came out pretty good for a first try! Thanks for your great instruction! I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Great tutorial. I was having trouble once I turned my work to start the decrease. What threw me was my yarn was at the front of my work but after watching your tutorial I think I will be confident to continue. I’m making a baby blanket, so 60 rows up and now decreasing or I will run out of wool. Thanks Kat

I have stitch markers but like the box of them that you showed in another vid (how to decrease into a rectangle C2C). So o orders them off your link. Am working on a C2C baby blanket. Started the decrease on the square and decided I better check to make sure I was doing it correctly. Glad to find out I was. 😁

Thank you so much you are the only one that made me succeed my square! Some only decrease one side and chain 6 etc etc...your method is easier and makes perfect squares and it's quicker. I was going to start knitting them but that takes longer and I prefer the corner to corner pattern which plain knitting does not do plus it gets boring and the finished knitted one stretches more. Thanks again I was getting discouraged.

Good morning this is good to know i am doing a c2c would love to show you at first i thought i was making a lap quilt but ending up making a double size quilt so can you tell me how many blocks i need to do for making a twin size blanket any idea. I like to do one in all squares with a stripe of color in it can you show us that one some time i know you are busy lady
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
Good ideas, Beveryly! I have written them down, and hope to be able to film them this week. As for judging the size, you have to stop when one side (from where you started to where you are working), is the width of a twin size bed. ;) xx!

if you want a triangular shawl then you just continue increasing both sides. if you want a rectangular shawl, her next video in the series should help with that.

I have a request! :) Will you please do one on changing colors on a decrease? All of the tutorials I have found demonstrate only one color change at the end of a row Before decreasing, and then only finish up on one single remaining color. However, on my current blanket I am working on, I am using three different colors and I am so stumped as to where, and how to end/begin a new color while on decrease. As well, they will have a tri-color in their thumbnail, yet in their tutorial will be using self-striping yarn. So frustrating. I hope this all makes sense! Thank you. :)
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
Oh what a bummer! Yes of course! I would change color after the slip stitches. So my first chain of the chain 3 would be in the new color. Hope that helps? If you are on FB, post a pic. We can comment better to help you (these comments will get lost - they don't show up as new on my PC). BIG hugs! xx
@ellafaith87606 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your reply! Yes, that does help actually. So, I am to do the color change directly after the slip stitches on the new row ... got it! :) Unfortunately, I don't have a FB. Of course, I never say never, lol! I completely understand the getting lost in all the comments though. I am so thankful that you were able to catch my message in time. I appreciate your help, thank you again!

I started my first C2C a month ago. I am halfway through it right now. I started it by watching Mikey. I can't remember his youtube handle. Like I said I am halfway through it which means I am now at the point of the decreasing. To learn how to do the decreasing I didn't finish the video I started watching on lol. I watched this video instead to learn how to decrease. Probably because I would have to re watch and fastforward Mikey's video to get to the decreasing portion because the whole square is on his video for the swatch.
@SecretYarnery6 жыл бұрын
Glad it helped, Sharleen! I'm not big on figuring out where I was in a video either. ;) xx!!
@sharle66 жыл бұрын
lol, I also apparently don't like to do test runs with smaller swatches either lol. Apparently, I just like to dive right in lol which also makes it figuring out where I was in the video harder lol. Hmmm, maybe I should give that tip to KZbin lol to have a bookmark option in a video lol.
