Great demo. And Lauren's narration was most enjoyable. Her communication and style is superb; having her as a commentator elevates these videos and makes the experience of watching entertaining and educational. Excellent!

The name "Pinky Tuskadero" would fit this elephant. The name is a character on the tv show Happy Days.

You could have mentioned the use of almost pure silicon dioxide for the back window, if it has aluminium, or if there was crystal formation from adding a nucleating agent. That would have been interesting.

I don't think they wanted it to be realistic. I really like this weird "crazy" look of it. Thanks for the video! P.s Who is the commentator Lady? I am falling in love with her voice and the way she speaks :))

why is the furnace seemingly stepped on the inner side of the entrance ?
@brianevans4737
@brianevans4737 7 жыл бұрын
You are actually looking at the Back of the multi door Door. Each of those steps is a door that can be opened. You only want to open the minimum size so you don't let the heat out, and don't hit the piece on the way out... Hope this explains it for you.
@richardjones4080
@richardjones4080 7 жыл бұрын
so basically its a means of controlling the temp in the furnace right? and also depending on sized of worked piece of course

how does the air tbey blow in stay in
@corningmuseumofglass
@corningmuseumofglass 7 жыл бұрын
If you watch when blowing the initial bubble, the glassmaker will cap the end of the pipe with their thumb to trap the air in and force it down into the glass. After that, blowing is used to further inflate the glass, but you don't want to trap air inside a piece.

It seems that cartoonish look was intentional, as one can see from the sketch. I also prefer a more realistic look, but she achieved what she set out to do and that requires a lot of skill.

I respect the craft of glass blowing, but this was an ugly piece. I know some pieces will be crooked but this was just horrible. The pink made it even worse. The uneven legs, weird ears, she said she choose pink cause its like crazy but nah, it doesnt work.
