Cornish House on the Cliff | Plein Air Painting Demo

Mr B and I set off into the countryside to find a landscape to paint. So happy to have found this gorgeous scene a mixture of land and seascape!
I worked through each stage explaining composition, underpainting, colour mixing & tonal values.
We were on the north coast of Cornwall, next to the village of Zennor. 10x14” oil on canvas.

Claire, just found this video by accident, love your loose impressionistic style and the way you explain your process, especially mixing the colors. Can't wait to see more. I am in Florida, but love Cornwall, want to get there one day. My family (Pascoe) is from Cornwall and I love all the TV shows from there (Vera, Dr. Martin, etc.). Someday, I will bring my paint box and paint with you. Retirement is right around the corner for me. Maybe I'll to take a workshop with you one day.

I'm Australian, we don't have an accent ... ha ha ... but the palette you've used is very similar to impressionists (well, to me at least) who muted their colours to create harmony which is very appealing.

Another wonderful paint out!!! Would love to know your thoughts on easels, I see you now have a Daytripper but in the past have used Open Box M. I'm on the wait list to order an Open Box M but have now been considering either the Daytripper easel by Prolific Painter. I can only afford one currently and having a rough time deciding. Currently working with a Guerilla thumb box. I know you have several Open Box M sizes so I know you are a fan of those but having now used the Daytripper, if you were to choose just one which would you choose and is there one point of advantage as to why? Thank you!!

Hi Terry, open box m are having trouble with supplying easels. I would suggest trying another company. I do love my new Daytripper. Mr b and I are going to do a video review on the Daytripper hopefully posted Sunday 26th. Which should answer your questions. Hope this helps? If you do buy one please mention my name. Thank you 😊

As for the Daytripper, I have decided on another company as further research showed that J.
