i am guessing it was voted for by people who don't live or work in Falmouth, it's always a vibrant, happy and friendly town lots of diverse and quirky shops along side the big corporate stores and often something going on in the town to make it a great place to visit. There are far more other towns in the UK with empty shops, no sea front and far more unfriendly.

Hi guys , my wife and I have visited Falmouth on quite a few occasions whilst on holiday in Kernow. No way is Falmouth the worst town in Britain. Plenty shops as per your video, Gyllygvase beach, Swanpool beach, Pendennis Castle all well worth a visit. We had a lovely river cruise up the river Fal and saw some beautiful big houses up at Carrick Roads. Another time we took a sail over to St Mawes. Nowt wrong with Falmouth. On the other hand we live about 15 mls or so from Alloa which deserves to be the list. Great video as usual.Thank you both once again.Take care.

I suspect this is much more balanced than the survey. Thank you for the video.

I must be boring as well then-I love Falmouth- however, I may not be as enthusiastic in the rain and cold on the 5th February when this survey was dated. I think most seaside places would struggle to find very much enthusiasm at that time of the year. Andrew did make me laugh - I agree - Possibly a few bored students started this ball rolling and did it for a laugh. Now for the fun bit - Falmouth has lovely beaches, great scenery, lots of small interesting shops and a good calendar of events. We loved the video Sarah and Andrew - as usual you are the ‘stars’ Well done,

The criticisms must be from people who've never properly visited Falmouth and explored the beautiful historic harbour or elegant streets full of stunning Victorian & Georgian architecture, and quaint tucked away cottages. Falmouth has some of the most expensive and desirable housing stock in Cornwall. The views of the Fal Estuary are incredible. It has character, culture and history in spades. There is loads going on, even in winter - unlike some Cornish towns. It has a really good balance of tourism with local industries and businesses, again unlike some Cornish towns. It has a great range of places to eat really decent food at all price levels. It has a university, and good schools. Most people would kill to live there. Rumour has it that ospreys are now nesting on the Fal this year, so even they are keen...!

The card is free but you have to load it with £30 and you use that money to take the ferries to St Maws, Trelissik Gardens or up to Malpas near Truro. If you are in Falmouth I recommend a visit to Sabzi vegetarian restaurant.

The town has lots of small independent shops, loads of restaurants with cuisine from all round the world, pubs with character plus lovely beaches and many other places and attractions to visit. I love the little alleys that lead down to the sea, the bunting above the high street, the vibrancy of the town (maybe helped by the fact it’s a university town)…admittedly I’ve never lived there, but would happily live nearby, as I’m a country girl at heart and prefer to live rural. Having lived for years near Croydon (my husband worked in Croydon for many years), I can honestly say that Falmouth is a million times better, and I’ll be back in Falmouth in September!

So many UK towns/cities are pretty uninviting places....you can tell I am a country boy. Bath is one of the few that I actually look forward to visiting. What is it with the Cornish and Trago.....?
