There were 4 tracks (2 Main line and 2 Loop line) at Bahanaga Bazar railway station.. Actually the main reason behind this tragic accident was Goods train was at the loop line & Coromandel Express coming from Howrah to Chennai was given green signal, this train was at the main line but due to signal faulting /signal interlocking (mechanical interlocking) this train moves to the loop line where the goods train was there and simultaneously collision occur. Coromandel Express was moving at a speed of 127 Km/h. After collision of Goods train and Coromandel Express the coaches were scattered at down main line and again other train moving with the speed of 126 km/h Yesvantpur Howrah Express collided with the coaches of Coromandel Express. In this accident 3 trains took part it's very dreadful situation 😢😢😢

Wrong. Coromandel was given a green signal for mainline, but for unknown reasons it shifted from mainline to loop line and collided with a freight train standing on a loop line from rear. And during derailment time, bengaluru howrah express nearly fully passed the scene on the other line, but derailing coromandel express strikes the last 2 coaches of the bengaluru howrah express, causing them to derail, rest of the train continued to howrah.

Sorry to say that the sequence of accident is wrong. Actually, Goods train was sent to stable in a loop line towards up direction for clearance of Coramadel Express in Baha Nagar Bazzar Station, where signal was given for straight line to go for Coramadel, unfortunately the signal was put back due to some other reason. If the knob is reversed (put back) then the point was set to the occupied line, by that time the formation would have already been crossed previous signal which was in Green with maximum permissible speed of around 130 kmph, Loco Pilot after seeing the signal Red, he started applying emergency brake but could not stop but reduced the speed to 90 or 100 and collided in the rear of the Goods also Loco claimed over it balance coaches have been derailed and some of the coaches were leant on the Yeswanthpur Howra train which was partially crossed and 3 or 4 coaches of that also derailed. Reasons for put back the Signal could have been due to 1) non clearing of the Goods train, though it has gone into loop line 2)Roll back of Goods train after clearing the fouling mark (least chance) 3) Technical fault with the interlocking of Point and signal.

On the loop line a freight train was standing to pass the Coromandel Express that starts from the Shalimar station. When the Coromandel Express leaves Balasore Station just after a few minutes that train was diverted to the loop line where Freight Train was standing and hit it from the behind, as Coromandel Train hit from behind its coaches got derailed and from other side Bengaluru-Howrah Express was coming, so its last compartment got hit by Coromandel Express and 3 coaches from behind got derailed.

No bro... goods one was parked in loopline.. while coronmandal Ex should cross that station in mainline.... sooo when coromandal got wrong signal it was guiided into loopline to the goods train ... it is collided with goods train .... after this incident after some time from opposite direction another train came and crashed to coromandal which their bogies were on that train's tracks....

No, the signal was through green for coromandal on main line, but unfortunately something happened in between made the train diverted to loopline with MPS and smashes the vagons

Question is Once Goods train parked in loop line, dose station Incharge Switch it back to main line. Answer is yes he did it's locked & signal is green. Signal is Green thats why Driver speedup. We need answer did switch malfunction unable to connect loop line with main line or someone did it manualy. Terror angle should possible.

It's Coromandel Express which entered the loop line where the Goods train was waiting hitting it from behind triggering the bogies to derail and obstruct the path of Yesvantpur - Howrah Express (As per Railway sources). I think your version needs rework.

Actually many People given various theories of this incident..but real theory is this.. firstly there were 3 rail tracks . suppose A.B.C on A track there wass goods train .. whereas on B track coromandal which was going straight in the direction of goods train but its drivers was not aware that the train will take quick turn upon goods train..so it was going fast .train which was on trach B . simultaneously there was atrain on track C which was travelling opposite of coromale exp .so when cor ex coolasped with goods train .the 5 bogies which were connected to engine were derailed and engin was on the top of the goods train and the last bogies of corl exp train collapsed with the other train wich was on track c.... I traied my best to explain .ignore my English..

When a train goes from main line to loop line , there is a maximum speed limit . The driver of the coromondal must have instantly known that something is going wrong but he had no time .

@@jyotichhabra486 It seems Coromandel SF EXP had a full green signal for continuing on the main line at 130kmph, in the dark the loco pilot did not see the tracks were still leading to the loop line where a goods train was standing, upon changing tracks it derailed first, which is obvious considering the speed at which the track change would have occurred and high-speed impact on the back end of the goods wagon.

The Root Cause of The Odissa Train Accident Has been Identified It happened due to a change in electronic interlocking. Initial findings suggest that a “mistaken” signal likely led to the Coromandel Express entering a side track, called loop line, on which a goods train was parked a few meters ahead. Mechanical Signal error …instead of Red, the signal turned Green Coromandel Express entered the loop line near the Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Balasore around 7pm on Friday because of a “mistaken” signal, which was immediately withdrawn. The Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express which was coming at high speed rammed into the coaches of Coromandel Express that had scattered on the adjacent track. Fragmented coaches then hit Yasvantpur Howrah Exp. “Whoever has done this, has done such a change - on the point machine, the configuration of the track - based on which everything runs… There has been a change in that configuration, because of which this painful accident has happened. But I will comment on that only after the report of the independent agency is submitted,” said Vaishnaw.

Great effort. But are you sure about the sequence of each incident ??? Because in media my other sequence is showing now, some media says Coromondal hits freight train first other says yeshvantpur express derail first. Can you confirm on the sequence of event ?

Totally wrong depiction Coromandel SF Express between Howrah's Shalimar station and MGR Chennai Central got the green signal for the main line so it continued at its max permissible speed of 130kmph, but due to some signalling error the track was set to loop line and the train changed tracks suddenly and derailed and hit the freight train that was on the loop line. Not to forget that Coromandel SF Express was at 130kmph and was between its previous and next stoppages and had green signals for the main line, the impact was at 130kmph, leaving no time for the loco pilot to react or brake. 18 coaches of the Coromandel SF Express bore the brunt of the impact. Unfortunately, SMVB-HWH SF Express between SMVT Bengaluru and Howrah station was on the opposite main line and almost passed the location but its last 3-4 coaches ran into the derailed Coromandel SF Express rakes.

1st of all the WAG 9 goods train rest in 3rd track for crossing of coromandel express, In the middle track the coromandel express is running fast of WAP-7 130km/hr then the coromandel is entered in the loop line of the goods train track and it's is collision with the goods train and derailed. The compartment of the coromandel express are spread into the 3rd track then in few mins yesvantpur express is collision with the coromandel express compartments. This is the current news by media. This video is NOT ACCURATE .. The Coromandel Express, running at the speed of 127km per hour changes lines from main to loop line. It then collided with the goods train from behind. The engine rammed and crushed the guard van of the iron ore train and derailed .Luckily the guard of the iron ore goods train was not present inside as he was checking the goods carriages ahead.Bcuz of the derailment coaches were piled up on adjacent main line tracks . Within few minutes, the last 3 COACHES OF THE Howarh-bound Yesvantpur-Howarh superfast coming from the opposite direction derailed as the Yesvantpur-Howarh train was passing in the opposite direction simultaneously at the same time..... The Yesvantpur-Howarh train almost fully passed the Coromandel train collision which was happening at the same time but unfortunately by the time last 3 coaches passed ; the last 3 coaches collided with the derailed coaches of the coramandal express at a high momentum.

Please take down this video. It grossly misrepresents the sequence of events. There were two freight trains on the 2 loop lines on either side of the 2 main lines upon which the coromandel and Yeshvanthpur were to pass. Yeshvanthpur crossed the station first on its allocated main line on whose left side was the green liveried Wap 9 s facing towards shalimaar. The other main line on which the coromandel was to pass had an iron ore laden freight rake on the loop line to its left with its rear facing Shalimar. Coromandel was forced onto the loop line, for reasons that are still being ascertained, instead of the main line, at full speed, where it rammed into the rear of the freight and by which time Yeshvanthpur had almost passed except for a few coaches that were hit by the derailing coromandel rake leading to the last 2 or 3 coaches derailing. Please do some good search before making videos on serious incidents, but then even the mainstream media was coming up with animations straight from their misconceptions.

Coramandel express hit the freight train which was already derailed and the coaches of the coramandel express fell to the nearby tracks and field. Yashwanthpur express then impacted the already derailed Coramandel express.

Sequence of events reportedly is as follows 1. A goods train is parked on the loop line on Bahanaga station near Balasore in Odisha. 2. Signal for the main line was showing green for the fast train to pass while the points blocking access to loop line was not closed. 3. In reality either the signals to the main line should have shown red if the access to the loop line on the track was still open OR access to the loop line track must have been fully blocked where the freight train was parked/stationed, before turning the signals to the main line to green. 4. The driver operates the train only on the basis of signal lights and has no control over the tracks underneath. 5. Coramandel express travelling from Shalimar (West Bengal) to Chennai travelling at night at a speed of 110 Km/hour or so, entered the loop line where the goods train was parked/stationed, because the access to the loop line on the track was open and the lights to the main line showed green. 6. Coramandel express rammed into the goods train as a consequence and a major accident was caused. Some of the coaches fell on the adjacent Bengaluru - Howrah railway line. 7. Yeswantapur (Bengaluru) - Howrah express train travelling towards Howrah on the adjacent line rammed into the coaches of the Coramandal express train lying on its tracks from the previous accident. 8. Physical damage has been observed to the points with disconnected links/wires have been noticed which had been satisfactorily ensuring proper switching of trains for the past so many number of years allowing passage of thousands of train trips. More investigations will tell who is behind all this disaster. Please see if you can model the above sequence.

@@santhimolk.r1637 More detailed reports will tell. Apparently the Coromandel express was just passing Bahanaga station. There was no designated stop for that train at that station. Perhaps that is the reason why the driver did not have to reduce the speed. The hypothesis is since the loop line was still open either the fast moving train has been guided to the loop line without the driver realising it OR hit the end of a goods train that had extended into the main line ie the goods train was not fully stationed in the loop line with sufficient clearance. All hypothesis! Please await the detailed investigation report.

The video is partially right, coromandel derailed first from the point and ramped into the freight train and its coaches were spread over the track, then the Howrah bound train was coming and collided with those coaches. But I appreciate your efforts 👍

I appreciate your research but still it's wrong, the Coromandea Express was given green signal and the train was going in its given speed, the problem was in the inter-locking system because of this I guess the derailment of the Coromandal Express occured. The wagon got derailed simultaneously and the locomotive was in speed and due to derailment of coaches the speed of loco increased and it mounted over the wagons of goods train. The coaches of the Coromandal scattered on the down line where the Yeshwantpur express was moving and the last coaches of it got derailed resulting into a massive accident.

The last 2 of 3 coaches of the other train Yeshvantpur Exp were impacted and derailed. No head on impact. Coramandal Exp had a direct hit on the goods train.

This is not what happened. Coromandel crashed into the goods train from the back. Then the Derailed coaches of it crashed into the last two coaches of Yeswantpur-Howrah exp which was coming in the opposite direction on different track.

Actually Goods train was standing in loop line & One train collied with Goods train & got derailed ,on meanwhlile this derailed bogies hit by another train in opposite direction. When th signal is green without indicator that means its a Main line signal so loco pilot can run , max permissable speed.But after crossing the main signal, train diverted to loop line.....

Listen...goods train was standing in the loop like and waiting for signal and Coromandel express was going towards Chennai but due to technical glitch Coromandel express went to the loop line from the main line where the goods train was waiting for signal and the loco/engine of Coromandel hit the goods train and crushed the good train's last boggie and the boggies of Coromandel express were derailed at the same time when accident happend yaswandpur express was going beside Coromandel express in the main line and the driver saw it so he increased the train speed and only last 2-3 boggies of yasvandpur express was were derailed rest of them were fine...

Good but it is wrong it happnd like this. Yashvanthpur bad given signal to go straight .While coromondol was in the same track . Both were near to crash . When signal was given to change track to the track were a goods train was parked . Coromondol crashed with the goods train. Yeshvanthpurs last three cothes derailed

This not The cormondal express entered into loop line from main line. The loop line already accommodated the goods train. The cormondal collided with the stationary goods trains and its boggies fell into the main line that take traffic in opposite direction. In the opposite direction the YPR Howrah express came and hit the derailed boggies of cormondal after 10 mins of the cormondal incident

This is not the actual event that happened. Coromondal got diverted to loopline where goods train was already there then first collision happened and derailed bogies blocked the mainline of opp direction track on which howrah Bengaluru exp collided at max speed .

I think this narration is wrong. First the coromondal express arrived, some of the coaches after the engine gor detailed as it was routed to the loop line where the goods train was waiting. It derailed from the point place which recently had a repair. The signal was green to pass at full speed, but due to error the track was routed to the loop line. After the accident, in ten minutes the yeshwathpur express arrivee.

This is happening only weight less coaches implementation in railway for more profits...when weight of coach decrease.... Stability between wheels and track is decreases.....

First place the camera in all the change over and it will be monitored by image processing. The driver should see the change over before crossing. And I don't we have any message communication in WhatsApp where train stopped.

you are saying wrong The first train collided with the goods train. Then a coach of the same train collided with the last coach of another train.The people of the other train did not suffer much loss.

With out changing switch of the loop line to main line how coromendel got through green signal on main line? The switch and signal might be true and ok but the train somehow got derailed at the switching point and smashed the vagons resting on the loop line

Your graphics are good but the information is not. The incident took place about 24 km south of Balasore, near Baha Nagar bazar station, Odisha is not a district but a state.

Appreciate your efforts, but the visualization is absolutely wrong. Please spent some more time in hearing the press conference of Railway Member on ANI and make the correct video. Already many foolish media houses has spent false news that 3 trains collided simultaneously which resulted in the international news of world's largest train accident. The truth is - Coromandal Express met with an accident and unfortunately other train was passing by the same time due to which its last 2 or 3 rakes got entangled and damaged with the derailed coromandal rakes.

This is wrong, Coromandel should have to pass from middle line in which green signal was given and that's why loco pilot didn't slow down the train. The huge mistake was, just before green signal, loop remains open and coromandel change its track from middle to left on which goods train was standing at rest. The result was the huge collision at 125 kmph. At same time on the 3rd track, Yasvantpur express was crossing too, the last 3 coaches of coromandel flies towards yashwantpur express and collided with last two coaches of yashwantpur express. Total number of passanger coaches derailed were about 23-28.

Loopline pe khara train ko passenger train ne signal fault/human error ke karan pehle takraya bad me d-rail hua bogi ko dusra passenger ne takraya.

This is wrong. The coromandel express wrongly changed from the middle to the left track due to some technical or human error and collided with a goods train which was parked on the left track. The collision was so massive that the bogies were thrown around and on to the first track where the howrah bangalore superfast came down cruising and collided with the already collided bogies of the cormandel exp.
