Corona Virus: Rapid Changes in Morocco- My Current Situation

Since my last video, SO MUCH has changed and in a big hurry due to the Corona Virus. I am currently in Rabat riding the storm out. Businesses are forced to close and the tourism is dead. Today, I take a short walk and show you just how different it's all become here in the Medina in just a matter of a few days.

Rodina Life Style I hit a lot of the little markets for fruits, vegetables, and bread. Picked up a mattress and all the stuff I need to cook with. Tomorrow I hit carefour and endure the long lines!

Actually, better to stay in Morocco at this point than in basically any other countries ! Morocco is getting it right, great government reactivity, all supermarkets and facilities are normally loaded, no shortages and people are respecting the lockdown I'm wondering who's the most developed countries now...

Even though most people work and live per a day .. If they cant work they cant eat .. the government is figuring it out though I hope everyone get what they need to stay at home.

Most Moroccans do take care of each other, in our douar there were 2 ladies one with reduced visibility and the other one physical disability andv even though the poeple of the douar took care of them as well as taking care for others out of the douar. When you go to cities people mist of the time offer to pay for those with no resources and myself if I buy something and next to me I see someone in need I would pay for their groceries, and I am neither rich nor poor. Add to this there few Moroccans who are really in need, majority of those who pretend to be in need are not, you cannot open a house (house not apartmemt) or a couple of houses, have a pension then go lineup and beg for assistance with those who have nothing. Abderraouf (the comedian) worked and earned money and when he had more money, he gets married and produced more kids, he got an agreement (lagrima) that pays him 2500 DHS/month and he was not happy about it even though he really doesn't deserve it he did not work in the army or did anything of value to the nation except making them pay to see or watch his shows. In other nations ifbyoubate an artist you work you pay taxes and save for your retiremen. If some Moroccans stop being greedy, and selfish the government will be able to provide some sort of help to those who really need it not just those who lobby and ask for it

I like your videos and your interaction with Moroccan people ..I just want to late you know that Morocco is not a military regime as you mentioned in the video .what the government is doing is just a prevention specially in social country where people always next to each other everywhere so far Morocco have very little coronavirus cases and if they don’t do that as early as they can it will be a disaster and devastating ,as you said in earlier videos the people still ignoring or don’t care about the virus they are not taking it seriously .we all applaud the government and most Moroccans are happy with the call in the right moment .plus I want to let you know the shopping stores still open to serve people as long as they keep distance for Moroccans they are required to have an authorization to go out I think this is not affecting people or foreigners like your situation .there is food and groceries available for months so need to panic and don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need as a Moroccan I know Moroccans can even offer you place to stay and food if you need .people will open there houses to you as they doing with a lot of tourists who got stranded in Morocco can’t go back to Italy France or Spain I saw many videos in you tube ..so in Morocco you are safe .good luck

I'm originally from Morocco and live and work in the US now. I travel quite a bit throughout the US for my work and right now I'm stuck in a hotel in the suburbs of Minneapolis , MN with only take outs and drive through. All the restaurants are closed, can't go and sit down at a Starbucks or coffee shops. Things are similar here too, except some stubborn southern states that don't wanna call for non essential businesses to shut down.

TruthSeeker Wow- yeah I’m hoping that two weeks is the longest this goes for anyone. Any longer than that is when some real damage happens. I’ve watched so many ppl leave and come back bc those flights were never an option or they canceled. I landed an apt and riding this out- I’m thankful for my situation.

FYI A declaration of a state of emergency in the whole of Morocco, starting from Friday with 6 pm. The gouvernment do this for precaution. 63 cases= 2 recovered 2 deaths 59 active cases

Yes- I heard about this last night. I hear the public transportation will be reduced significantly at that time as well. The numbers you have here tells me the number of cases has tripled in just a couple of days. Stay safe!
