In full afterburner, the two J79 Turbine Engines in the F4 Phantom burn 3 gallons per second. In one minute of full afterburner, the F4 could burn 180 gallons x $5/gallon = $900 of fuel in 1 minute. Have your gas credit card ready at all times.

In this video, the jet is in burner only during the first takeoff. The low passes were in full, non-AB, throttle.

May be a stupid one but ill ask it anyway what is the difference between low throttle mil full amd lastly AB? Anybody got me here I've been wondering what mil is used for

When I joined the Navy and was stationed at the Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey,the F-4 Phantom was on it's way out,and the F-14 Tomcat was just introduced! I hated it with a passion every time that I had to set an F-4 on fire just to practice Fire Fighting! When I got out of the Navy,I was visiting the Pensacola Naval Air Station,and they were practicing putting out fires on the F-14 Tomcat! I was just as saddened by the Sailors doing what I also was once forced to do,...."LIGHTEM UP!"

The Big Bad Rhino !!! Beautiful Paint I hope they tucked this one away in a nice museum ! The Germans & Britain had many nice paint schemes also Israeli & Japanese Phantoms along with the US. Air National Hi-Vis schemes of the 1980s. Nice video USMC/ Semper Fi
