Thank you! Do you mean the ability to go from Vantage to Corona, as I am not sure what is meant by "Export settings from Corona Vantage to 3ds Max"? Either way, if you can let us know over on the forums in the Feature Requests section (forum.corona-renderer.com/ ) then it can be properly tracked and considered for our future plans. Thanks! Tom

@@ChaosCorona Nice work....but av been trying to export from corona to chaos vantage but it keeps popping up error report and the exportation discontinues. Pls what can be done ?

@@adetibakayode1332 Sorry you are having problems - for all problems like these, please contact our support team via ticket at support.chaos.com/requests/new (they do not see comments on KZbin so cannot help here, plus it's not possible to images and scenes via KZbin which can be useful in solving issues). When you get in touch, please provide as much information in the ticket as you can, including which version of Corona, whether it is for 3ds Max or Cinema 4d (and which version), which OS, the error message, etc. Thanks for your understanding, Tom.

Great news to finally be able to use corona in vantage to speed up our creation process and see quick previews. Instead of having to wait for the IPR when doing big scenes with lots of vegetation, speed in vantage is great. Only thing I'm impatiently waiting for is the live link, heard it would be for the end of 2024 and corona 13. Then I can really start using vantage in my pro client work and pipeline to speed up my creation process. Too bad we can't already have a live link available for corona 12. But I imagine good development and implementation without bugs takes time ;)

Live Link is indeed planned for Corona 13. It's primary purpose will be to allow you to render animations from Max or C4D through Vantage. Time will tell how "live" it is for other uses such as e.g. using it like an IPR - we won't know til we get started on development and seeing how things will go, just to manage expectations. Keep an eye on the daily builds over the next few months :) Thanks! Tom

Good news. I did a test, but materials from the Corona library are not exported to Vantage, such as wall textures and glass. Am I doing something wrong?

Vantage doesn't have an equivalent for all textures/shaders/materials. You can check our documentation on compatability at Corona Max specifically: docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/Corona+for+3ds+Max+Features Corona C4D specifically: docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/Corona+for+Cinema+4D+Features And you also must check the V-Ray / Vantage document, as anything not supported there will not be supported by Corona either: Vantage compatibility per host app: docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/Supported+Features+per+Host+App If you don't find an answer through there (that is, by seeing you used something that is not compatible), then a ticket is the way to go: support.chaos.com/requests/new Thanks! hello what about corona color correction .. can we convert it ? because some times all materials would be edited with it 🙏

Should work fine in materials, though currently Corona Color Correct nor native Max ColorCorrection do not work on the Corona Sky when sent over to Vantage. If you run into something that is not working the way you would expect, do let us know via ticket at support.chaos.com/requests/new (preferably with the scene, or some stripped down version that just has simple primitives and the problematic material). I still have problem with exporting from corona, it doesn't support any kind of color correction! how do we should edit our textures in 3ds max?!

For now, bitmaps should be able to be color corrected (basic color correction), although there may be incorrect rotation in Vantage. As noted, this is just our initial implementation of export to Vantage capturing the fundamentals, and improvements will come in the future. OFC this also depends on what Vantage supports. You can check our current support and take a look at what Vantage supports in general (that is, from Max and V-Ray, as if it is not supported for V-Ray it won't be supported for Corona either, now or in the future, at least not until it is supported from V-Ray): docs.chaos.com/display/LAV/3ds+Max Hope this helps! No plans at the moment, since that is more of a Max thing than a Corona thing. Corona should work with all the new management options in 3ds Max, which leaves that as a Max topic when it comes to learning how it works. @@ChaosCorona Hi Tom! Thanks for your response. I know it's more of a Max thing, but I was trying to adopt this new color management workflow in Corona and found it somewhat confusing. For instance, I'm not sure which color space option I should choose when loading bitmaps, or whether I should disable the ACES OT option in Corona tone mapping to get the correct final result. I will try the forum for answers, but I think having some basic guidelines with tips and best practices would be helpful for other users, too. Thanks!

In Corona when I want to export the scene data for rendering to vantage, there's only .cdo (corona scene) export and no .vantage option. what should I do?

If you have followed the steps shown in the video, and are not seeing the option that is shown in the menus in the video, it sounds like you have an older version of Corona installed. If you do indeed have Corona 12 installed and the option is not showing up, you would need to submit a ticket via support.chaos.com/requests/new so that the support team can take a look into things for you! Hi! This is unlikely to be added, since Corona likes to keep things physically real and there is no such thing as an ambient light in the physical world (it's merely environment lighting, which we already have, along with how that light bounces around in the scene, which we also already have). With that said, you should still add the suggestion to our Ideas Portal at chaoscorona.ideas.aha.io/ and in there add some examples of how and when you would find this useful (so, what you would use it for, what it is you can't currently do that you want to do, etc.). Otherwise feature suggestions here on KZbin won't be seen as the team can't monitor them, so things need to go in the Ideas Portal in order to be considered :) Thanks! Tom

From what I understand, the latest Cosmos and Vantage updates now have animated trees and plants that you can take from Cosmos and drop into your Vantage scene (they don't animate in V-Ray or in Corona, just in Vantage). Vantage doesn't support any editing or creating of UVW. You'll have to adjust things back over in the DCC for that. Hope this helps! Tom

Thank you for the feedback! Do you mean camera settings inside Vantage, and Vantage render settings? We leave those to be covered in Vantage-specific videos since those are not unique to Corona, you can find those over on the Chaos TV channel at www.youtube.com/@ChaosOfficial . We don't want to replicate all that information in Corona videos, so that we can focus on creating more Corona-specific videos, and here we wanted to cover things not already explained in the Vantage videos. This doesn't work with a randomly created scene. Apparently the scene in the crown needs to be prepared in some special way?

No special preparation needed, other than not using materials that Vantage does not support (or that we don't currently convert to Vantage). If you are running into an issue with a particular scene, after checking whether what is in the scene is supported by Vantage, you can always reach us via ticket and share the scene (which is private) for us to take a look at what is going on - support.chaos.com/requests/new . Is Chaos Vantage scheduled for release for Mac? What about Vantage's compatibility with Cinema 4D?

You'd have to check in with the Vantage team on what the longer term plans are there. Not sure what you mean by compatibility with C4D, as Corona 12 can export from Max or C4D to Vantage. There are some differences between the two, which arise mostly from how C4D handles UVW very differently, but that said Vantage is already compatible with C4D. Hope this helps! Tom

If you are experiencing crashes, please send in a ticket at support.chaos.com/requests/new so that the support team can help out. In the ticket be sure to cover what version of Max you are using, what error message you got, what steps you were following when the crash occurred, a minidump, and preferably if possible the scene, along with info on whether this happens in every scene or only one specific one. That info will cut down on any question and answer back and forth that would need to happen before we can begin diagnosing what is happening. Best regards, Tom

As mentioned in our tutorials and webinar and blog post, Corona 13 is when we plan to have a live link which will let you render animations from 3ds Max and Cinema 4D without having to build them in Vantage (though you can do a lot by building them in Vantage already!). Hope this helps! Tom

Hello Chaos! A very useful tool. Please make a fix as soon as possible. Currently, the corona slicer mtl conversion is not working, and there are problems with FloorGenerator and Background. Perhaps it's just me who has this problem. I hope you will fix it as soon as possible so that I can enjoy my work and know that everything is fine. Thank you)

Hi! Thank you for the feedback! Bear in mind that Vantage itself only supports certain things. It won't support third party plugins like FloorGenerator for example. It also does not support the slicer (from V-Ray, or Corona - Vantage simply doesn't have an equivalent). So those are not "fixes" - third party plugin support will likely never happen (there are just too many), and for something like the Slicer, that is a feature request rather than a fix, which would need to go in to the Vantage team. The Vantage documentation will cover where and how to send in such requests. Hope this helps! Tom

@@ChaosCorona Thank you for your response. But it is important to me. It increases my speed and ease of execution. I understand that you have your own vision and analytics. But if there are no basic things, I will not be interested in Chaos Vantage. Why buy a product that will slow down my work instead of speeding it up? This is just my vision and wishes.
