@@lynnem3300 Well, I certainly don't. She enabled him. Surely, knowing he'd had a full-blown affair with Deirdre would have been enough to make the wife distrust him and think twice about staying with him. But no, he was still Mr. Wonderful in her deluded eyes. Even if Deirdre had been a femme fatale - albeit with flying-saucer glasses and a croaky voice - who had lured and ensnared poor gullible Jon (who for some strange reason couldn't resist her) you'd think the wife would at least start wondering what kind of weak, easily led fool she had married - but no, she was still too starry-eyed about him herself. I wonder if he'd married her in his pilot's uniform?

i started watching Corrie in 1997 as a kid, it is a joy watching all these Corrie episodes back -- and there are so much of the details that went over my head which are seeming so much vivid watching it all back now as an adult! At the time I didnt truly appreciate how neglectful Zoe was to little Shannon and how much Ashley let her take advantage of him! All these years later little Shannon passing is still heatbreaking...Ashley was warned so many times by everyone that Zoe was using him, and she wasn't coping with Shannon but because he cared he overlooked all the warning signs. He tried to be firm with Zoe trying to get her to act more responsibly but sadly it was all too late x

I remember many years ago i decided to do some work with the womens prison service & the Open University non academic courses which were free of charge & designed to combat bad educational experiences. I was working as a Psychologist With mental health services & this idea to involve women with bad experiences during school & Their reluctance to take GCE exams etc. Anyway, as the Open University told me that some prisons took advantage of working through their educational packs & thus the person gaining a certificate Went a long way in gaining self confidence & persuit of further education when leaving prison. It ended with me leading some groups of women prisoners in the education packs I expected hardened criminals & resentment among these women ( this was a very long time ago & i hadnt had much experience in this area) I was gobsmacked by the amazing interest & intelligence in these women! Many were in Prison because they found themselves trying to cope alone ( their men folk abandoning them) with children & turning to crime to try & feed & clothe their kids! & for me it was a case of There for the grace of God..etc These women were just like us Strong & determined to do their time & get their kids back I enjoyed being with them & watched with pride as they worked their way through many of the packs that the Open University had provided. Once they got their completion certificates, they carried on with more educational courses I was so pleased when a few of my ladies went on to do GCSE's & completed them with flying colours! I kept in touch with a couple of the women who once released went on to take more educational exams which increased their chances in better jobs which they did! Its so easy to condem those with a criminal past until you meet people in prison, you would find those who were just unfortunate to get caught & hadnt done anyone any harm. All they wanted was to give their families a better standard of living. Deirdre in this instance was unfortunate, being convicted when she was innocent but her attitude of holier than thou was wrong. Sometimes we have to make the best of a bad job & try to get along with others. Being aloof & being better than Others only makes a rod for your own back. I also found prison officers & guards really helpful & they got along very well with the inmates Ok there are some who are vinegary & sour but they are few. Thanks EHS 🇬🇧👧
