So great acting back then, it was honestly like they were so real! It so realistic, the script, just the way people spoke like they were in the house. Audrey so totally different!!!

Bravo the late, great Bryan Mosley and Sue Nicholls, alias Alf and Audrey Roberts, two wonderful actors who brought these lovable characters brilliantly to life! What entertainment they brought us over the years - and thrilled to say, Sue goes strong on the Street as gorgeous Audrey. Thanks so much for posting this Paul, I thoroughly enjoyed a trip down memory lane with all the Corrie greats!

Audrey was so utterly self absorbed. She would have been impossible to live with. I know she is only a character, but she plays the irritating selfish woman very well. She has no filter at all.

A rather unlikely couple, Audrey, although an opportunist, had to be asked twice before they married. Alf admired her beauty, but had trouble with her flighty, irresponsible girlish ways. Both got what they wanted and Audrey often openly and publicly expressed affection for Alf; whether she meant it or not was another matter. She always remembered him fondly after his death, so I guess she meant it. Mostly.

In the scene with Bet early on, the character was meant to be 43 in those scenes, as she was 47 when she marrried Alec in '87. To me, she only looks about 30!

What happened to the Lounge at the back of the Corner shop in later years to present, never been seen again just blocked off with just a small storage room or something or was reason for no back room caused by a some sort of a crash?? (The back room scene starts from 10.00 min)
@Paulious788 жыл бұрын
+adam birchenall The living accomodation at the back of the corner shop was converted in September 1985. Audrey was using the living room as a hairdressers but that went when Alf made the shop larger and turned it more into a self-service place. Re-naming it Alf's Mini-Market, he moves upstairs to the flat above the shop. Audrey moves in with him after their marriage but they then move over to number 11 in 1986. Audrey again sets up as a hairdresser in the front room.

@@alexanderjones9572 Yes but it wasn't really the fact it's a gay guy playing a straight one I was commenting on, more that John Savidant was a gay guy playing such a rampant womaniser as Fred Elliot!

Remember them using eerie music when Alf was carted out to the ambulance. I guess the intention was to make the scene more dramatic, but it made it look a bit naff. I mean, they didn’t need it for the Rovers fire episode.

How is it that this, and other, KZbinrs can post videos like this? Yet my home video movie made at Granada Studios Coronation Street Tour in Manchester in 1990 was "taken down" after being online for 9 years? The video was a home made "episode" of Corrie. I suppose it was due to Eric Spear's theme tune which I used in the video? So, WHY aren't Corrie videos taken down like mine was, and the posters THREATENED like I was??? I think it unlikely I'll EVER post anything on KZbin again! 👎
@Paulious784 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. I used to have all 20 Time Life Specials uploaded yet due to 'copyright' i had to remove them, they had been already up for several years before this happened. I've seen other people post the specials that I have had to take down, why aren't they being hit with the copyright notice?
@marcse7en4 жыл бұрын
@@Paulious78 I'm not entirely sure how it works, but I think a copyright holder has to complain? My video was my own work, but with the Corrie theme dubbed on. I also had a "commercial break" in my video, with an off-air TV advert for the Granada Tour. I really don't see what possible harm my fan video did? It seems some people get away with murder, while others don't?

@Paulious787 жыл бұрын
Sarah Alf had already sold the shop by this point He sold it once before to Reg Holdsworth's boss but ended up buying it back when he died. Alf sold up again, this time to Reg and Maureen Holdsworth. Reg would continue working at Firman's, Maureen and her mother Maudlin worked in the shop
