I agree that Leanne did the right thing. If she didn't, she could legally face criminal charges for his behaviour due to a concept of vicarious liability. In my country, Canada, if a minor under age 12 commits a criminal act, the parents are criminally liable for their actions. If property is damaged, the parents are also liable to pay for it.

I have to point out that this is not the first time I’ve seen this happen in the show. Abuse can take any form: Emotional Verbal Physical Sexual Racial I know it may not sound like much, but I have had the usual bullying, been laughed at over the way I used to walk. I have also experienced being placed in a trance and waking from it, then running around screaming for the person to get away from me. Fast forward to recently, I have been jeered because of the way I speak. Some days are better than others. I have often felt uncomfortable when I speak because of the fact that I am in group discussions. So really it’s nobody’s place to say anything 52:10

Why was it wrong? He was physically abusing her and put her in hospital overnight. And she thought he had injured that boy on purpose. If more parents turned their kids into the police instead of sweeping their bad behaviour under the carpet then there would be less teenage thugs running around stabbing people and taking drugs. And it's "did" the wrong thing, not "done" the wrong thing.
