Billy and Todd came here guardians but then spilt up and todd went off with summer but then got arrested so summer had to come back to Billy. But then Billy got with the other bloke and came like a stepdad to summer. Then there broke up and todd came back and was fighting who was what to summer. And summer got fed up and shouted stop fighting and explain there all her dad's to her so there agreed to be her fathers. But really her guardians are Billy and Todd. But mostly Billy as he's looked after her more than other 2.

After that, Summer returned, but without Todd who told her to go and find Billy and Eileen. Upon their return to Weatherfield, Todd disappeared without a trace and as Todd failed to return or get in touch throughout the whole of 2018, Billy and Summer were left struggling by themselves. January 2019 saw the arrival of Gemma's twin brother Paul and with still no word from Todd, Paul and Billy got together and supported each other ever since, especially when Paul was struggling to come to terms with the fact that he was sexually abused by his stepfather Kel at the age of 14. Paul also became a father figure to Summer during their time together. A year later, Todd returned to Weatherfield and after learning that Billy was in a relationship with Paul, he enacted a campaign to split the couple up which ended with Summer getting run over by a car as a result of Todd ruining Paul's job at the helpline and then paying Will to break in and trash the flat. Though Billy forgave Todd and the two were later engaged, however when Todd's lies were exposed, he was dumped by a heartbroken Billy and was once again disowned by his mum. With Todd's track record of machiavellian behaviour, he wasn't a good role model to Summer when he said to her "Sometimes you have to bend the rules in order to get what you want as long as you don't get caught" and in doing so, Summer sprayed a teacher's car in shaving foam and look what happened there: she got caught in the act and was summoned to a meeting with the head teacher at school.

@@juliewinfield5986 When Todd learned that Summer's dad Drew asked Billy to take care of Summer after his death, he really wasn't keen on the idea and only pretended to like Summer. And then six months later, Todd disappears without a trace after abandoning Billy and Summer and doesn't get in touch with them for nearly three years and then manipulates his back into Billy's feelings by getting rid of Paul?! Seriously who does that? The reality is that Todd hasn't learnt anything from his previous scheme to split Billy and Paul up. Even Gareth Pierce, who now plays Todd said "I don't think we're going to see Todd's moral compass completely reset. He will always be a player and also be someone who's able to get what he wants out of a situation." and also, Iain McLeod said "Even though Todd loses Billy, don't expect him to learn his lesson anytime soon." The fact is Billy has been hurt by Todd so many times and yet, Billy still kept taking Todd back. At least Paul, on the other hand, was good to Billy and they were always there for one another and loved each other despite their differences. The problem is that one minute Billy breaks up with Paul on the basis that "Summer's safety had to come first" and the next minute, he goes back into bed with Todd. How does Billy reconcile those two things? The whole love triangle storyline made no sense whatsoever.
