This is update 10 of the SARS-CoV-2 discussions we've been having on my Twitch livestreams. This was pulled from a livestream on March 18th, 2020 (apologies for the emotes flying around and the background music). This video goes into a paper the was recently released regarding how different blood types might be more susceptible to COVID-19. I first go over blood types so we can fully understand the paper. I then go over my skepticism about the paper starting at 10:25.
Topics expressed in these videos are mine and mine alone. I am not a medical doctor and all advice you take regarding this virus should be taken from proper agencies like the CDC. The purpose of my streams is to promote awareness and look at the virus from a scientific perspective.
Blood Type Paper: doi.org/10.1101/2020.03.11.20...
If you have any questions, let me know in the comments. Thanks and hope you enjoy!

Appreciate the support, everyone! These videos have gotten way more views that I expected. I'll work on producing more off-stream so that there aren't as many distractions popping up. Also, I'm transitioning to online teaching, which is my primary focus, so I won't be able to put out as many coronavirus videos. I'll do my best to keep up with things. You'll see lots of my teaching videos popping up in my channel, though!

@@taliadavid858 Do you have a link to the particular paper(s) in question? I haven't seen much talk on this topic in relation to COVID19
@DrWD40
@DrWD40 4 жыл бұрын
@@taliadavid858 A strain of HIV gains entry via both the CCR4 and CD4 receptors on T cells. People who are immune to that strain have the homozygous delta 32 deletion. I haven't read anything about HIV using ACE2. SARS-Cov-2 has only been shown to use ACE2 so they have separate mechanisms of entry. Also the rhesus factor is on chromosome 1 where CCR5 is on chromosome 3 and the delta 32 deletion isn't linked to a negative rh factor. Those are separate genes. I could be misunderstanding what you're trying to say though. Some HIV drugs (lopinavir-ritonavir) were tested and deemed not effective in a study against COVID-19. Some trials are still ongoing though. Besides that study there hasn't been other links between the two viruses. At this time there is little data that supports the link between CCR5 and immunity to COVID19. "ccr5 covid-19" returned 0 results on pubmed. I searched the original SARS and very few results as well. I worry the genetic testing site is pushing that theory for people to pay for tests to see if they have the delta 32 deletions. email is drwd40@outlook.com but there isn't really too much more I can add on the topic since the data is lacking.

Cassandra Meiselbach You’re absolutely kidding yourself if you think some “cleanse” is accomplishing anything. That’s not how the body and the immune system work. Parasites are living things. Viruses are not. I don’t know where your “research” is coming from, but any good feeling you’re experiencing is clearly the result of the placebo effect. Try doing some actual research, like learning how the scientific method works, rather than spreading misinformation.

In no way want to slight your efforts Brother so wanted to revise my previous comment and let you know how much I actually appreciate your work here. I do, very much! Thank you. My revision is that as a teacher myself I’ll say that useless is actually extremely useful!! What we can learn here is that we have a lot to learn here! That is a huge advantage if one is willing to admit to it and your presentation makes it clear that we do not have a grasp on all the vectors in play. Please keep working and know that I greatly admire you Sir.

I never had the flu as a child or teenager, or had a flu shot. When I was in the Navy, I lied, and said I was allergic to eggs, so didn’t get the flu shot, and never had the flu. In 1992, I had my first flu shot, and came down with the Hong Kong flu. I took no flu shots since then. I’m 64 now, and have had the flu only that one time in 1992. I’m A+.
@sylviagenders2508
@sylviagenders2508 4 жыл бұрын
I had the Hong Kong flu as a child, but never got it again. My doctor was almost yelling at me because I would not let him give me flu vaccines. My mother had had typhoid as a child, and had a very bad reaction to a typhoid booster as an adult; my son went autistic after his second MMR in 1972, when they were still using live materials; and my left eye lid fell down and drooped heavily ever after a tetanus booster. I won't take vaccines because of all that, plus because of the mercury, aluminum and possibly human fetal tissue. What the mercury does to nerve synapses was filmed by U Calgary in the early 90's. The physician himself had no idea what was in the vaccine he wanted to give me. And it's a catch-22, take our medical treatment, but we won't be responsible if anything goes wrong. So I don't see this as scientific at all, because if they don't know the outcome, then naturopathic medicine cannot be condemned as being unscientific for the same reason, uncertainty of outcome and inability to reliably replicate results. What other people do is their business, and to its credit, our local hospital posts the informational pros and cons on vaccination openly.

Thank you for such a clear description of what to look for in research papers! I am always amazed by people quoting and relying on research that they don’t read or even understand. I especially appreciate what you said about stats. Stats should be in service of findings. Too often I think they are used to create findings. I think the purpose of research is to question, to encourage us to keep questioning. Too often I think research is used to suggest truth and then presented as “evidence”.

@Camille Cassatt Mainly, how our rh- factor interacts with a variety of food and pharmaceuticals. It can be fatal. Some RH-s can't tolerate any type of chemical interactions from anything man made. I've almost died in the hospital a few times for different reasons. They always have an excuse that doesn't consider your blood factor. There are also diets for each specific blood type & factor that can explain a lot. I was fortunate enough to have a Dr to admit this to me, but they wouldn't put it on paper. Kind of odd imo. I’m A+ haven’t had a cold in 3 years! Then in early/mid March, I felt a tickle in my throat, started a slight cough the next day. Two weeks later, still had a sore throat and cough and then my eyes started to secrete mucus like a mild version of pink eye, my lungs had a burning sensation for the next two weeks as if I just finished a hard sprint, sporadic dizziness for the next 4 weeks with headaches off and on. Finally, as of today, I have a light cough. Oh, and extreme fatigue and loss of appetite on and off. It felt like I was feeling better, then I would regress and would feel horrible for the next several days! This happened every few weeks! Not sure if it hit me so hard because of my blood, my hypothyroidism, or a combo of both, but after this I better have immunity for a long time! Lol

I believe my survival rate was very low after talking with my doctor, the take blood thinner and med for the AFIB which raises the risk. I'm not sure if this helps but it's what I was told by the Dr.

anny791 Good for you Anny. Glad you contributed. I wonder if this is the new World Order. I want to give platelets but I was hoping to find out if I’d already contracted Covid before I came forward. I came down with something about four weeks ago but I don’t know what it was. With any hope I already had it and got over it. Until I know more, I’m staying hunkered down. Best to you, Anny.

It's been years since I donated blood or plasma but they LOVED seeing me as I'm O+ and have a "nice juicy vein" they liked to tap into! Vampires? Hmm. I wondered!

I have not seen any direct ones yet. I'm also quite focused on my transition to online teaching at the moment so I haven't been able to keep up as much with the pre-prints.
