Great points raised and I think it’s important to continue educating and raising awareness of how to support someone who is blind or partially sighted. Continue making these excellent videos to give sighted people a little guidance. Hope everyone is managing to stay safe and well during these very difficult and challenging times.

I have found that the general public in my local area in Birmingham, and further afield, have use their initiative very often in fact, and two examples come to mind, when I am out and about on the street people will often noticing my symbol cane, - - - whistle a tune just give me an idea of how far away they are and sometimes when I get a little bit too close people will often rattle the loose change in their pockets once again to give me a sound Q these people have probably never met another visually impaired person before but are just applying commonsense and taking the initiative!

That’s really fantastic that people are genuinely trying to be helpful in and around your area, I think it gives people a lot more confidence when people do use their initiative. I definitely agree that it’s a positive education and awareness attempt so sighted people have a better understanding of how to assist someone who is blind or partially sighted. People really are trying to do their best in what is a very challenging time for all. I hope you are well.

Hi im David im 35 from brisbane Australia sever visuial impearment from bilateral congenital catteracts bilatteral aphikia and adult onset glaucoma fulltime long cane user. Since 17. Great video guys and some really good points raised - it brought me back to two seperate interactioms I had had with members of the public long before ("it?")so this post isn't wiped by Google. Both late at night in one of our major shopping malls after nights out I was simply standing by the road when out of noware some random person drags me across a road-which I had no intention or need to cross very scary at 2am on a Sunday morning even as a guy..my second a polar opsite I was walking up the same mall again late at night when a lady stopped me introduced her self and asked if I realised there was an all in brawl 150meters ahead with a huge police presence I didn't she offered an elbow which I greatly accepted and guided me back from where I had come and around the incerdemt entirely. Had she not of said anything I would of ended up in the the middle of the brawl. I hope these experiences along with the valuable video give an example on good guidance, support looking out for others verces a pottentioy dangerous hindrance. Would love others feedback on the the issue.

Hey David, thanks for sharing. Great to have you stop by. There are some really lovely people out there who really do want to assist, so it’s wonderful to hear that you had a great experience with the lady offering you an arm to assist you around the unfortunate happenings down the street. I hope you are managing to stay safe in these difficult times.
