The snap ring holds the piston seal in place during assembly, otherwise not needed

Thanks for a great video. I have a d4d that keeps loosing track tension. I assume it the piston seal is bypassing and the grease is packing in the back side as it is not leaking out anywhere that I can see. I will have to pull it apart soon, your video will help a lot when that time comes!!

Resemble the yokes and the forward stub might be easier with a long stud in the bottom of the pinch gap and or snug up the inside 2 bolts. How much taper on the end of the new cylinder to expand the oring into its groove. A few minutes with an angle grinder followed by cratex polishing discs might save a lot of time later.. Did you back the back of the hole with boat wheel bearing grease before putting the cylinder in. Lastly. Do you try to bleed any air out when tensioning the track for the first time after reassembly. Just a few thoughts from a far.

How did U over pressure it? How far back did it push thec recoil spring? How much pressure does that cyl get during operation? Your super electric grease gun Will not damage the seal, something else went wrong last time

At 9 min into your vid is t he problem. Your grease gun did not do that, it was assembly error,
